Today, Magnolia is a growing city with a population of over 1393 (2010) and attracts thousands of visitors to the Texas Renaissance Festival held every year.

Magnolia is rich in historical sites some of which include Fallen Warriors Memorial, Fanthrop Inn State Historic Site, Grimes County Courthouse, Montgomery Historical Society and Wunderlich Farm and Historic Klein. A historic landmark such as the Grimes County Courthouse was established in 1846 and named after Jesse Grimes, a veteran of 1812 War. The main University in Magnolia is Southern Arkansas University, which is 1.1 miles from Magnolia Center.

While in Magnolia, you can attend the Texas Renaissance Festival or visit the TGR Exotics Wildlife Park. You can also try rafting/kayaking at the Riva Row Boat House or visit the Lone Star Jellystone Park, which has vacation rentals, amusement parks, and campgrounds. Alternatively, you can summer camp in the Camp Lantern Creek.
