Schiller Park was originally known as Kolze in 1914 but would soon receive its eventual name in 1926. Schiller Park had made the way for an incredible moment in history when Juliza Kolze, the daughter-in-law of the original founder of the village, became the first female mayor in Illinois. Schiller Park's population would peak in 1970 when it would include a diverse melting pot of cultures all in one place that includes German, Irish, Italian, and Polish immigrants. Schiller Park would receive another female mayor in 1993 whenever Anna Montana would pick up the mantle that Juliza Kolze created.
How is the weather in Schiller Park?

Schiller Park experiences the four seasons equally and has average temperatures that you can count on year-round. Some of the lowest temperatures include thirty degrees in the winter and some of the highest include eighty-five degrees in the summertime. Make sure to bundle up for the winters as they can get even lower than thirty degrees if there is a freeze going on. Fortunately, there are plenty of transportation options that you can use here in Schiller Park! Many people use the Metra Commuter Train station that runs through parts of Chicago. Highway 19 runs straight through Schiller Park and has plenty of entrances that you can use to ride it to your next destination. Highway 45 cuts through the west side of Schiller park for a moment as it travels southbound towards other parts of Chicago. Highway 294 also runs south and can be accessed as well at your convenience. Traffic is normally congested during rush hour times but calms down during the mid-afternoon and evenings.
