Good for short-term
August 18, 2024This was a good starter place for me when I first moved to CT. There are some wonderful people living there who are friendly and kind. At time the time, it was the best pricing for a safe place in Westville. After living there for several years, some aspects wore on me; it wasn't a good long-term living situation. If something breaks and the supers can't fix it, you'll likely waiting months, even if it's something major. There's not a live number to call for management, so sometimes it can take ...several calls to get a response. They didn't warn me until I moved in that they don't replace the AC units. Mine was old and not in great shape; I suspect some asthma/allergy issues might have been connected to that unit giving I'm doing much better in my new place. Another major issues was cars parallel park right alongside the building, up against some units (including mine). If cars idled at all, I'd get the smell of car exhaust in my apartment, even if I had the windows closed (I'm not sure if this was also connected to the old AC unit). The hot water wasn't at all dependable. I didn't have any issues getting warm water for dishes, but regularly had to to take cold showers, or had the water go cold after just two minutes. Too often, I emerged shivering from showers with blue lips. I asked about the water a few times over the years I was there because it seemed worse in my unit, but I guess that's just how the building is. If you need to live there, I recommend waiting for a unit with a newer AC unit and one that isn't directly alongside parked cars. I was grateful to be able to save money while I was there to move into a better place. I was grateful for the community too.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Worst Experience
May 18, 2024As an ex-tenant, just before moving out, I talked to a few fellow tenants, and they said that the landlord has never fixed anything properly. At your first glance, you would clearly see that the hallways are dirty. Other tenants are loud. This is the worst place I have ever lived. Don't waste your time moving into this place.Review from Apartments.com
Poor Management and Poor Pest Control
February 25, 2024This review is for 1033 Whalley Ave. which is being managed by the same company that is managing 1015 Whalley Ave. I’m the fourth tenant who is moving out for the infestation of the apartment in the past 3 weeks. Bedbugs and cockroaches are everywhere. Poor and rude management. Avoid this building.Review from Apartments.com
Hidden Gem- Definitely Recommend!
May 5, 2021Great place to live! I’ve lived here for 3 years and have loved it- you really can’t beat the price and location. The apartments are really spacious, gated parking, and laundry in the building (which can be hard to find in new haven at this price). It’s fairly quiet and everyone is super nice. Walking distance to downtown Westville where there are some shops and restaurants. Management is willing to be flexible and work with you on things. This building is a secret gem!Review from Apartments.com
