Cute and cozy, but needs some work

To start with, if you like Riverwest, the location/neighborhood is great. You get an easy walk to multiple buslines, off street parking, plenty of extra street parking, only a block to Oak Leaf Trail and several bars and restaurants; in addition, it's an easy and fairly quick drive to the interstate. It really can't be beat.
The apartment itself is a bit small, but fairly typical Riverwest two bedroom. There isn't anything spectacular about the apartment, but it has enough space and a generally ...
good layout; it's really about what you do with it! There is also a sizeable storage space off the bathroom that goes up to the attic that is a nice bonus; and the bathroom is very spacious!
Now, for the con list. The building isn't in the best condition. That stairs are a little lopsided, the doors are not weathersealed and have a noticeable draft, the windows are old. Oh, and if you can't take spiders, stay away, they are always around. Squirrels sometimes get in the attc, no one site laundry, the yard is not completely fenced in (but the landlord is pet friendly!). And, speaking of the landlord, he is pretty laid back, and rarely visits the property, but also is a little laxed on upkeep (as noted), and doesn't always follow up with the small stuff (leaky sink, an outlet that doesn't work), but with the most important things he's good (stove breaks).
Overall, it's a nice place and comparably, low rent for decent space.
