Beautiful but safety concern

The building is beautiful, apartments are new, you are on the ocean and can walk to everything. However, parking is across the street in a garage. If something happens in that garage, you are quite literally on your own. Virginia Beach clearly has a huge homeless issue so take that into account before you sign a lease here. You will be in the midst of it all, good and bad. I wanted to love it but the safety factor is huge and I just do not feel safe here so I am breaking my lease early to move. ...
It would be an amazing place to live if there was security 24/7 or at least during the overnight hours. Getting stuck in the elevators and having an elevator or two down happens regularly and they are dog friendly however they don’t want dogs using the bathroom near the building so with the safety issue it is quite difficult as a single female.
