Decent Apartment - not income based
January 9, 2025This complex is nice enough. Since it is an old building the walls and floor are kind of thin, and definitely not level, but it's fine, especially when you anchor your furniture. The bottom floor is cold in the winter, and the top is really warm in the summer, but it works. Management and maintenance guys are all kind and professional.Review from Apartments.com
Income Based and Feel Trapped
September 13, 2015I got this studio apartment through a program I was in. I was in need of one because I was on the verge of being homeless from being kicked out my grandmother's home. I have been here over a year, they are income based apartments I don't pay much. The issue is they are about to tear them down, and I don't have children so the chances of me getting a section 8 voucher is slim to none. I am worried because I don't want to be moved to the other street where it's just filled with so much trash, ...violence and etc. I am a young struggling college student that wants to just take a leap and get a regular apartment but I am not sure if I could afford because the prices have went up so high. I work a part time job bringing home less than what the monthly rent will be. I don't want to seem like I am complaining because I am thankful and grateful to have my own apartment; however I just think it's time I just do it. I just need the help, and this contest will definitely put me in a great space to where I can truly take care of myself and continue to put my life on the right track.
