I never have to lie awake nights worrying that a huge tower will appear and block my view. My apartment looks directly out at Central Park from the spacious bedroom and living room open to the day and night. Its fourth-floor position is tree-level. The hardwood floors and sparse appointments do not distract from the deeply green park in August. that are hung, embrace the sunlight, its summer heat muted by a both a northern exposure and the proliferation of trees. No need for blinds that might interrupt the view. The park frames my windows. With only eight apartments to a floor, there are no abysmally long--and spooky-- corridors. So there is a sense of privacy and also good will from co-tenants who are thoroughly pleasant, but never intrusive. The service is superb. With 24-hour concierge service in an appropriately sized lobby, the opposite of large and maze-like, I could just as well leave my door open as the view outside.
