income. I have a few disabilities so I need a roommate to help pay the rent. I would love to have a place of my own that I could afford with a few amenities like a pool, work-out room, or bar-b-que. That's a dream of mine!! This building has no amenities. Also I'm actually living in the part of Los Angeles County called "The Valley". I have three older kids who live in the Los Angeles basin on the other side of the canyons. I can't afford that area! Prices have gone up so much in the Los Angeles basin, that it is impossible to find an apartment equal to this one, that is equally reasonably priced! One good point about this apartment is that you can have pets here, either a dog or a cat or both!! Owner doesn't charge extra or pet fee for your animal. He just takes a security deposit at the start of the lease. When you move damages are deducted from your security deposit. This includes repainting or carpeting, if your pet ruins the carpeting. There is a laundry room on premises with one washer and one dryer in it.Kind of small for the entire building. Since there are private homes across the street, there is always parking available for guests to visit. In a perfect world, if I could find a comparable apartment at a comparable price, even if the square footage was smaller, I'd move in a heartbeat! That's not possible here in Los Angeles. The same apartment would cost from $300-$500 more per month in the same area and if I wanted to move over the canyon in the area where my kids live it could be as much as $1000. more per month for an identical building with no amenities!! There is a tiny courtyard with trees that you see when you look outside the window in the living room or kitchen. The bedroom windows overlook an alley. FOR THE PRICE AND FOR WHAT YOU GET AND DON'T GET this is an OK deal!!! But what's a Senior to do? Grin and bear it and stay here? Or get lucky and get out!
