Renters Reviews and Ratings
Rude, arrogant, terrible Super (Luan) and Management
July 27, 2020 - Review from Apartments.comDo not live here. The super (Luan) is extremely rude and arrogant. He will take weeks to respond to a request or never respond or respond (after weeks) only to finally tell you that the request must be submitted via a form. Most of the doormen are nice. But oh man the management and Luan very much make this place not worth your money. Very unprofessional, very arrogant, weirdly possessive of the building. Oh and they love their elevators! That's their one pride and joy..? Although one out of two ...is out of order half of the time and they are painfully slow. The cherry on top - roaches! There are SO many roaches in this building. An exterminator needs to come in every two weeks (which you have to sign up for every time) to lower the count. I lived here recently up until a couple of months ago so hopefully this gives more recent context. Trust me. Don't live here. It's definitely not worth the price they charge you at.Read More
Everything I need
August 26, 2015 - Review from Apartments.comThis is a great building for Columbia employees or students as it is in a nice niche in between the campus and the upper west side. It is very close to the subway (the 1 stops at 103rd, only 2 blocks away), there are plenty of cheap-eats in the area, and there are grocery stores abound (Gristides, Westside Market, and Garden of Eden are all within walking distance - there is also a WholeFoods a few blocks away). It is also very close to Absolute Bagels - my favorite bagle place in the city :) ...Although the immediate area is not the nicest, I have never felt unsafe. We have doormen on the clock 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that are all very nice. The building amenities are more than sufficient - with a great laundry room in the basement and a small gym on the first floor. We have elevators, a wonderful (and very helpful) super, and nice thick walls so I don't hear my neighbors. The cons of this building are as follows: the street-facing apartments are very loud (Amsterdam is busy and the noise comes in like you wouldn't believe through the windows!) You get over this after a few nights, but it is a pain in the beginning. Rent is a bit high for the area, and the management company has terrible reviews (but I, personally, have never had an issue with them). My apartment in particular is VERY bright (gets flooded with light in the morning, lots of South/East windows), the layout is open, and charming. I do think it is one of the more newly-renovated apartments, so I am not sure what the other spaces are like. There is an arched entry and arched pass to the bathroom that are very cute and add to the aesthetic beauty of our neat little apartment. I have wood flooring and a modern, open kitchen. There is ample closet space and a large amount of kitchen storage space. OH - and it is pet friendly!Read More
