Pomeroy Place - 885 Southdale Road West

I resided at Pomeroy Place for nearly four years. It is a nice quiet building in a safe and desirable location. The on site staff were excellent and the facility was always very clean & well kept. Unfortunately, the reason for my sub par rating is due to recurrent issues with the air conditioning system. These problems would occur every year during May - September. From my experience as a tenant, the system is able to cool the units when the outside temperatures remain at or below approximately ...
25 degrees. Unfortunately, as the temperatures began to rise, it appeared that the system simply could not function properly and it would be very uncomfortable in the unit. This would occur periodically during each and every summer, depending on the severity of the weather conditions. Numerous complaints are issued by the majority of the tenants, but Old Oak would always report that they were waiting on a replacement part. In 2025, my building had next to no air conditioning for the entire summer. Week after week of internal temperatures in the high 70’s eventually prompted me to stay with a family member. Despite paying for air conditioning I was never issued a rebate for loss of service and in fact, was met with a rent increase after the summer despite these circumstances. Needless to say I had no choice at this point, but to seek out alternative accommodations. Had this situation been remedied appropriately I would have been more than happy to continue my tenancy. During a recent article in the London Free Press I was disappointed to read that once again, my former building is experiencing the same chronic issues with the air conditioning system, leaving the tenants extremely frustrated. This all but confirmed that I had made the correct decision. I would advise prospective tenants to carefully consider this when considering Pomeroy Place.

I have resided at 885 Southdale Rd since it was built. The building is very well kept and I'm proud to live here.
Jay always makes a special effort to keep the building clean and tidy.
All the management staff are excellent as well.
