Have been here since 2017. It’s perfect if you love old vintage buildings with friendly neighbors. The neighborhood is fairly safe and in a decent location. The tenants are super friendly and look out for one another. The building manager is super responsive and incredibly supportive.

DO NOT MOVE HERE unless you plan on not getting your deposit back. I made some standard holes on two walls hanging up frames, to which I patched up before I left. I was charged $846 for a full paint job. When you sign the lease, you are responsible for 3 years of the paint in the apartment. So if you stay less than 3 years and do any normal wear and tear to the walls expect to pay the full amount. There’s a high turnover for this apartment and numerous folks including myself have broken their ...
lease before the full year due to safety of the area, poor conditions of the building, and uncomfortable interactions with neighbors. Also, there is washer/dryer on-site in the basement but they refused to add a router down there so if you want to wash/dry your clothes expect that to be an inconvenient process.

Moving to the Arkona was the best decision. It’s affordable in a great location with excellent neighbors! The building manager Jenny is super responsive and there anytime you need her! Highly recommend this building.
