I've been a resident at Berkshires at Town Center for three years, and the living conditions have been nothing short of awful. The apartment constantly shuts off essential utilities, including the air conditioning and water. There have been several nights where I couldn't sleep due to the extreme heat because the AC was turned off, and water outages lasting more than 8 hours are common, often with very little notice. As someone who works full-time and attends college, this is beyond inconvenient ...
and affects my hygiene and health. Maintenance requests are either ignored or take forever to be resolved. I frequently see maintenance staff and leasing office employees sitting around chatting instead of addressing residents' concerns. When parking reconstruction caused me to pay out of pocket for overnight parking, leasing staff told me to "find parking elsewhere" and offered no solution. Security is another major issue. I’ve had multiple packages stolen, and when I reported this, the leasing office did nothing to help. I no longer feel safe having anything delivered to my apartment. Many other residents I’ve spoken to are equally frustrated and are planning to break their leases. I've seen people moving out constantly, and it's clear these problems are widespread. The management’s lack of concern for its residents is unacceptable. I do not recommend living here, and I regret staying as long as I have.

Mice have clearly taken over my apartment !

If I could give this complex no stars I would. I have not been in my apartment 30 days and I am ready to go. The first week being in my apartment I had issues with the AC. Apparently, during winter months they turn on heat and you can control your individual unit and respectively during summer months you have access to air. Unacceptable since sometimes I'm hot and want air or cold and want heat. First night in my apartment I heard noises while sleeping. The very next day I found the source, while ...
watching tv a uninvited guest dropped out the AC unit in the living room. Scared the hell out of me as I am terrified of rodents an bugs. I hear them in the walls while watching tv and I hear them running while I am sleeping at night. I was advised that I had to pay 4 months of rent to terminate my lease because THEY have mice as if I brought them there. I am subjected to live in a not so peaceful living condition. I feel locked into something which is effecting me mentally. I haven't even been here 30 days. So unhappy. So stressed out, I absolutely HATE IT HERE !

I'd start on a positive note if I could, but it's not an option. I've been here almost 7 years and until new management took over last the only thing I would complain about is laundry room issues with machines. The building sparkled (clean), any maintenance issues were fixed, any concerns you addressed with them were taken care of. This current management doesn't give a crap about its residents. Maintenance issues are done when they feel like it and incorrectly or not finished. Simple requests, ...
like an emailed copy of lease, are ignored. Constant issues that I hear all of the residents complain about are dryers never working properly and people always leaving their things in them. The building is dirty and residential hallways are never vacuumed. And my most severe complaint should have been my first. Over the last 3-6 months, I have had several mice in my apartment. Most recently yesterday evening in my bedroom this time. I immediately contacted the ER Maintenance at 12:15 a.m. and still at 11:15 a.m. now, no one has shown up. Up until now bugs have not been an issue, but mice can bring disease into your home and now it's in my bedroom too. DISGUSTING! HORRIFYING! HEALTH HAZARDS!

Horrible maintenance

Horrible maintenance in the building. Water is shut down for some every week and this has been happening for over a year now. Sometimes they give notice other times they don't to which we have to call the after hours emergency line who's response time at the best is a couple of hours. The view and apartment is good but not worth the horrible maintenance.

DO NOT RENT

IF I could give this place 0 stars I would, ever since new management took over this past summer there have been so many issues that have made living here uninhabitable. Everyday there is something new whether the elevators don’t work, we don’t have hot water for days at a time and sometimes we go 8 hours a time without having water at all. The water situation happens at least once a week, there was a period of time where only one elevator in the entire building worked causing people to be late ...
everywhere they went. Billing online is also never correct and you always have to contact the office to fix it yourself which you should never have to do!

Warning! Do not rent from this place!

Ever since this new management has taken over every thing has went wrong. They are more focused on making the lobby look nice to fool everyone on thinking that it’s a luxury apartment than fix the issues that are going on with the building. Maintenance crew is absolutely horrible so if something is broken don’t bother contacting them unless you’re patient enough to wait a month for them to fix it. Elevators shut down every other day, water shuts off every other day, hot water barely ever works. ...
Half the building had rooms flooded and tenants are leaving as quick as management creates new problems. Computer to let tenants in through the lobby doors has been broken for over two weeks now and multiple floors were without lights for almost a month. So I strongly recommend everyone to look else where. As the new management loves to send everyone an email every other day “SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE”

I have rented a few different apartments over the years. All of my previous experiences cost significantly less and were WAY more pleasant. Opt to pay less and get more by renting from anywhere else. And check the Better Business Bureau rating of AJH Management before committing if you don't believe me. Some of the units are nice, but when you have sewage repeatedly coming out of your sink or your AC is broken for two weeks in the middle of August, you want management who will take you ...

New management took over a few months ago. Yes, there were obviously ups and downs in the beginning, but they have done nothing but upgrade the property and show all tenants that they want us to be happy no matter what.

I found a fabulous 2 bedroom 2 bath with an enclosed terrace that is an end unit. The space is ideal,excellent light and closet space and a modern upgraded kitchen. The building Berkshire At Town Center has beautiful common areas, a pool, and gym, and a very helpful friendly staff. Garage parking and a great location. I love my views and the privacy that my end unit provides. I have lived here since 2011. Plan to stay!!!
