The perfect place in New Haven
November 4, 2025I lived at The Liberty for 2 years in a spacious studio and genuinely had a great experience thanks to the amazing management team there. The building is incredibly safe, with secure entry access and respectful neighbors. Packages were always delivered securely. Maintenance was consistently same-day, and the team was always professional, responsive, and kind. The location is unbeatable, right in downtown New Haven, with everything within walking distance. There are multiple apartment options, ...community events, and the overall environment feels warm, respectful, and well-managed. Overall, this was a wonderful place to live, and I would highly recommend The Liberty to anyone looking for a safe building with great management and an amazing location. The building is located in a very need spot right in downtown New Haven, next to the New Haven Green, and within walking distance of the famous, old campus of Yale. Thanks to this excellent location in the heart of the city you can enjoy restaurants and bars around, and the building can be reached easily by the public transportation system as all the buses stop right at the Green. Two train stations with ...connections to New York, Hartford, and Boston are within walking distance; a shuttle bus runs between main station and downtown as well, which makes commuting easy. Entering The Liberty always felt like arriving at an adorable hotel with its high ceilings. The Liberty provides a lot of comfort, two elevators, AC/heating per unit, a gym for your workout, a TV/clubroom to relax and play billiard with your friends, a library/office room, if you need a quiet place, waste disposal (cleaning service), laundry rooms with new laundry machines and dryers, and a concierge/postbox system to keep your orders safe and ready for your pickup. The building itself has security cameras and a very modern approach to IT services that will make your life easier. Entrance and laundries/dryers have their own app systems, the concierge system, reaches out to you when a package arrived. The building itself has a very good internet connection that allows for streaming in high resolution. Being new to the US, the management team of The Liberty made it extremely easy for me to settle in and provided a helping hand whenever I asked for it. I couldn't have wished for a better support, always professional and fast, always on point, always super friendly, it has simply been outstanding!!! The team even organized community events in the clubroom to allow residents to get to know each other better. Sadly after 3 years I had to move on, but also checking out The Liberty has been straightforward and supported by the great team! Great building, great managment team
May 31, 2023The management team at this place was absolutely wonderful, and I enjoyed my stay here. Ryan, the leasing agent, went above and beyond to accommodate my request for a unit change during my family's visit for my graduation. He found a loft that was perfect as a two-bedroom setup for my family. Scott, the property manager, was always responsive and promptly addressed any maintenance requests I had. When I wanted to install my own curtains, Scott worked diligently to arrange a work order and have it ...installed as soon as possible. They also make an effort to organize events for the residents, and I particularly enjoyed the wine-tasting event they held. Now, let's talk about the building itself. I really appreciate the high ceilings, which give it a spacious feel, and the community space is quite impressive. I found it to be a great place to spend time and socialize with others. Great building, great apartments, great management
May 13, 2023We lived at The Liberty Building for about 6 months and had a fantastic time. The building is always clean, the neighbours are kind, and the location is perfect. The amenities are brilliant from the gym, library, and game room to the package collection, trash, and door bell systems. Our apartment was clean, had a lovely view, high ceilings, brand new kitchen, great built-in heating/cooling system, etc. Additionally, the management made our move-in and move-out extremely quick and easy. If ...there was ever a light-bulb that needed changing or any other maintenance issue, it was dealt with almost immediately. Excellent apartment, incredible location
August 30, 2022I just moved out of my apartment here, and I can’t recommend the Liberty Building enough. The building was renovated relatively recently so things like the AC are very modern, and the building is well maintained. The 12-13’ ceilings are also a major plus. And the management company has been extremely helpful—I needed a letter of reference from them as part of my application for a new apartment in a new town, and Scott came through for me very quickly!Review from Apartments.com

From setting up my tour all the way through filling out the Room Condition Report the day I moved in, my leasing agent Rose was helpful and friendly. The Small Things Matter
May 8, 2020I have been living at The Liberty for a few years now and I have nothing but positive things to say about my home here. As for the things most renters look for: the price is on point for its perfect location downtown, the amenities offered meets the needs to live a well rounded lifestyle, and the staff always puts customer service first. These are a given living here, however, the attention to detail is what I love most about calling the Liberty my home. There is not a day that I walk into the ...building and not smell a fresh clean sent throughout the hallways. Every corner of the building is cleaned daily and I can see the hard work they put in to maintain this. They treat the building like their home, and I love that, because this IS my home. The staff at the Liberty take the time to understand really what their residents want out of an apartment and they act fast. The installation of the hand sanitizer stations, new controlled front door access, and the water bottle refill station are some of the little things that make a big difference in my book. Nice place to visit.
August 8, 2013First the good news: the maintenance staff are very responsive to issues, and are also on call nights and weekends for emergencies. The building has a great location in central New Haven, close to restaurants and the Yale campus. Now the bad news: parking, laundry, and utilities are expensive. A building with rent this high shouldn't charge residents for laundry. The office manager is argumentative and dishonest. I also had a mouse in my apartment. Wonderful apartment community
July 1, 2013The Liberty is the ideal place to live in New Haven. Conveniently located, residents have easy access to the Yale campus, great restaurants, parks, and even a movie theater. The management is terrific and made every effort to ensure I had an enjoyable place to live for two years. Jennifer (property manager) and Tom (maintenance) are the best! They were very accommodating and made themselves available when I could not be in my unit for cable set up and grocery delivery. They were also very sweet ...to my puppy.
