Worst management I've dealt with in 10+ years of renting! - STAY FAR AWAY!!!
June 10, 2020For a building that uses the slogan "Rental Perfection," I am feeling pretty disappointed with the quality and followup that I have received so far. Current Issues: 1. The apartments are very poorly insulated, and the windows and doors are very cheap. I can literally feel the hot air coming under my front door and through the windows. My electric bill was $230 last month for a two-bedroom, this is over double the highest bill I ever had at my old two-bedroom apartment down the street. My A/C ...pretty much runs all day. 2. Every time it rains, my balcony gets around 1/2 inch of standing water that takes 3-4 days to dry up. The building has been aware of this since February and done nothing. It's now June and still dealing with this. I recently learned that the builder slanted the concrete the wrong way, so several other residents are also dealing with this. They gave me a large broom in the meantime to push the water of my balcony as a temporary solution. 3. The shower in my bathroom leaks all over the bathroom floor and onto the carpet in the bedroom. I complained about this when I moved in on January 14th (put in a service request that that management closed even though nothing was ever done). Many other residents are dealing with this issue as well. It's now June and still dealing with this. 4. For the first three months, I got to experience the smell of rotten eggs coming from my water. (finally fixed after three months) 5. All of my kitchen cabinets were installed crooked. 6. There is no cleaning staff on the weekends. By Sunday night, most of the amenities/common spaces (elevators in particular) are a mess. 7. The building is advertised as "pet-friendly" but does not provide any area for pets to defecate/urinate. Instead, they sent out an email saying, "You are prohibited from letting your pet defecate or urinate on our property & the landscaping on the perimeter of our community. You must take the pet off our property for that purpose, and we have provided a pet waste station on 1st Ave N." and "You will be responsible for immediately removing the waste. If we find that your pet defecates or urinate and you do not clean the area, you will be in violation of your lease and charged a cleaning fee or a fee from the city." 8. Management takes weeks to answer emails and maintenance tickets. 9. The building will sometimes reject packages for no reason. I have had to drive to UPS on several occasions to retrieve refused packages.Property Manager Responded

"Rental IMperfection" at its finest
April 1, 2020It’s a shame you cannot leave zero stars for a business as terrible as this. The laughable irony is that ICON Central's marketing slogan is "Rental Perfection," but that is the exact opposite of what they are. I have lived in many different places over the past 20+ years as an adult on my own, and ICON Central has been by far the most expensive AND by far the worst experience of them all — a tragic combination. And, as other fellow residents have posted, it’s possible someone from management ...may write a canned response stating that they are sorry for how I feel, and suggest that I contact them for remedy, but I can assure you they don’t actually care, and my dozens of emails and in-person meetings with management have mostly fallen on deaf, apathetic ears. I don’t even have the emotional energy (from dealing with so many problems as a resident) to give you all a highly detailed account, but suffice to say that both the local and corporate management have zero regard for customer service, and on top of that the construction team who built this place less than one year ago made so many errors this place should actually be condemned. The communication between management and residents is utterly terrible. The response times to even simple requests are often several days, and frequently nonexistent. When they screw up, it is never their fault. Maintenance and cleaning is usually lackluster, interior and especially exterior. Lots of deception in the marketing, as well. This place is touted as dog-friendly, but at best they are dog-tolerant. Dogs are not allowed in any of the amenity areas, and aren’t technically even allowed to urinate in the shrubbery around the building (because of course there’s no grass anywhere on the property, nor any designated areas on property for dogs to do their thing). They’ve also been telling prospective tenants on tours that all of the amenities are available 24-7, but that’s not true because the high end automated coffee/latte machine that was 24-7, has been since limited to only open during leasing hours (10 AM – 6 PM, you know when pretty much no one wants to drink coffee?). Yet that coffee machine is one of the main selling points and reasons a lot of people moved in. I may update this post later with more details, but wanted to get something out right now for the benefit and warning of all who are considering living here. If you move here, I can almost guarantee you will regret it within a few weeks. I sure do.Property Manager Responded
