Too many fees

I lived there for 2 years. I feel the fees are too excessive and will substantially raise the total monthly costs way over the advertised base rent. Also parking can be very limited at times.

Incompetent Management Team

Our experience at Camden Lansdowne was so bad, we were forced to pay thousands of dollars in order to break our lease due to the negligence of the management team here. Management has blatantly ignored complaints from us, and many other tenants regarding excessive noise. We've had problems with people playing very loud music at random times of the day including very late into the night from anywhere between 5 pm and 5am. Every time we contact management about this issue, they only tell us ...
"They've been issued a warning" which to our knowledge means nothing at all since everyone gets infinite amounts of warnings and each warning comes with absolutely no repercussions. The maintenance team will enter your apartment anytime they wish for any reason despite not having your approval. We submitted a work order about a month before we left and EXPLICITLY asked to be informed before maintenance came to fix the issue in order to put our puppy away and secure some of our belongings. We were NOT notified and they just entered our apt anyway. This was one of several times where maintenance entered our apartment despite being asked for some warning. Management didn't seem to care about this issue either. Upon move in, our bathtub was defective and when maintenance came to look at it, we were told it would take about 48 hrs for the epoxy to dry and we'd have to leave and stay some where else because of the fumes. Why wasn’t this OBVIOUS issue fixed before move in? There is no good excuse. I could point out more reasons why we ultimately decided to leave before our lease was up, but I think you get the idea. I would recommend avoiding Camden Lansdowne and all other Camden apartment complexes and continue searching elsewhere. Again, our experience was so unbelievably bad, that we decided it was worth paying thousands of dollars in order to break our lease just to leave this poorly managed apartment complex.

We are very sorry to hear about your experience here at Camden Lansdowne. The entire staff does everything we can to provide living excellence and the best possible customer service. I'm very sorry that you felt ignored when issuing noise complaints. The leasing staff has policies set in place for this and we do everything we can to correct the issue before it gets out of hand. It's very hard for the staff to act if we don't know exactly where the noise is coming from. If we receive a complaint that it's from within the building, then we send notices/warnings to everyone in the building until the staff or the resident is able to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. After living here for 6 months I renewed for another 3 as I wasn't quite ready to move yet (and at a much higher cost mind you because they squeeze you for every penny). So, I'm late on rent this month (by a couple days) though I paid $2000 and only owe about $200 they tell me I have to pay a $211 late fee because the terms of my lease changed from only owing 10% of the delinquent amount to 10% of the WHOLE amount. AND NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL ME THIS!!! I'm infuriated and so glad I am moving ...

They had flowers delivered to my apartment. The maintenance guys carry boxes and groceries up to my 4th floor apartment. Every staff member addresses me by name, says hello and asks after me. They always ask if I need anything. What a comfort to live in a community where the caretakers of the property care enough to get to know you. Is Camden perfect? No, of course not. What place is? Be aware that living at Camden Lansdowne comes with many fees in addition to your rent including a charge for water (about $50 for two people), a "technology fee" (about $50) and a valet trash fee ($30). Another resign! Husband & I have lived here for over 3 years now in 2 different apartments. Staff is friendly & tries to resolve issues as quickly as possible. Grounds upkeep is nice. Only have used 1 of the 2 gyms & 2 of the 3 pools. They are pet friendly, a little $$ but they do have community events once a month. Record all details & photograph everything when you do the move in walk around. Overall very happy.
