Great first Seattle apartment
July 29, 2015
Location: It's close to lots of bus lines (straight shot to Capitol Hill, UW, and South Lake Union), which is nice. I can walk to the grocery store and there's a bar nearby, but if you're looking for walking distance nightlife, you need to look closer to the middle of Capitol Hill. Facilities: Laundry onsite (biggest complaint is that they only take quarters). Landlord is pretty responsive, but not onsite. Apartment: I'm in #9, which is the ground floor closest to the street. It gets a bit ...
noisy, but nothing unmanageable. The worst thing is that it doesn't get very much light or air flow (no fan in the bathroom), so it's prone to mold. The landlord knows about it, so if you see it he'll call a guy to take care of it, but you need to stay on top of it. The natural light isn't great either, so make sure you have lots of lamps or the place can get pretty dark.
