Gorgeous Lofts, No Safety or Security

Truly special and historic lofts, however, no security whatsoever. The front door is constantly unlocked and the parking garage gates broken giving access to anyone who walks or drives by, no cameras in any of the common areas of the building and no resolution to many of the tenants request for basic safety measures to be taken by ownership. I've been living here for 4 months and have already had 3 packages stolen or tampered with from the mail room - not to mention countless reports of the same ...
thing happening to other tenants. I've heard also from other tenants that they've gotten their cars stolen or broken into and that people have gone into their homes and stolen things. I requested cameras to be added to the common areas of the building, as is standard in many residential buildings to minimize crime and have been told that our safety is not their responsibility. Theft can happen anywhere, but given that we are in an area that has a high crime rate, a security system would seem like an obligation to me. My neighbor has been living here for 13 years and told me that he, as well as other long-time tenants have requested cameras at least 10 times given the thefts and it has fallen on def ears. I love my studio as it is truly a gem architecturally but I think they need to listen to their tenants concerns and take our basic safety seriously. It wouldn't cost a lot of money to have a security system installed and would surely reduce issues that affect all those that call this building their home.
