Prospective residents should be aware that Essence has not effectively enforced its smoke-free policy. Despite its claims, my unit has repeatedly been exposed to the smell of marijuana and tobacco smoke, impacting the quality of my living environment. I have addressed this issue with management on multiple occasions, yet no substantial measures have been taken to resolve it. management's commitment to uphold their own rules. If a smoke-free environment is important to you, it may be prudent to consider this when making your housing decision. Furthermore, for a new building, the frequent breakdown of the elevators are alarming. These elevators not only smell strongly of pet urine, with stains often visible on the floor, but also the pervasive use of artificial scents throughout the building to mask odors only exacerbates the unpleasant atmosphere.

The Essence management team responds to all reports by taking several steps to resolve, from contacting the those being reported on, sending the appropriate notices, and pursuing the options legally available to us. Essence, like other non-smoking buildings cannot guarantee or warranty the smoke-free condition of the designated smoke-free areas. The success of our efforts to make the designated areas smoke-free depends on voluntary compliance.
