This place charges a pretty penny based solely on location and nothing more. There are increases in rent and for what? Nothing. I’m not going to complain about the building itself because yeah it’s an old apartment, I can get that. But if I’m going to be paying what I’m paying now I rather live in a place that is a bit newer, safer, and has more amenities. People here are friendly though, but that doesn’t matter when cars are broken in to and a CAR IS STOLEN FROM RIGHT INSIDE THE GATED AREA. ...

Codes are given out like pieces of gum. Might as well keep the gate open every night and day.

Nice folks for the most part living here, just a lot to be desired with an older property; no preventative maintenance for last decade or so on a 40-year plus property will take its toll; needing cameras for real monitoring due to an increase in crime and homeless population in area; superficial upgrades and fake reviews by people that only TOUR the property so be sure look closely before signing a lease. Location is good but the sense of community that management likes to tout, will only ...

London Bridge Is Falling Down

My second story apartment flooded twice. The mildew continues to grow on the walls, and in the shower for two years. Pricing is ridiculous, and continues to increase; however, nothing improves, nothing gets fixed. This is a gated apartment complex, and yet everyone has the combination to the gates. Cars are being vandalized and broken into, storage rooms have been broken into, and Residence bikes have been stolen. Residents' guest have lifted the Car gate off it's tracks, and broke the motor ...

that operates the gate. Any issues with a neighbor will remain unresolved. An Elderly Lady was harassed constantly by the woman in the apartment below her until she moved out. Another man kept throwing food onto the balcony of the resident below him to feed birds; birds that made a mess on the balcony, and so that man moved out. The real estate company breeches their own leasing agreements; adding services that you have to pay for, that were not in the leasing agreement. French Place is falling a part. The building foundation is cracked, and shifting. The amenities listed above; most are not true. There are far better places to live that are much more affordable.

Walking into French Place is like being transported to a calm world. There are trees and vines everywhere, as well as plants and gardens on most resident's balconies. In the courtyards, there are fountains surrounded by comfortable chairs to sit on. Everyone at French Place is extremely friendly - all the neighbors say hi and ask about your day, the staff is caring and has movies and popcorn for residents to use, and the maintance worker is prompt, friendly, and very helpful. complex is extremely safe as well. All the doors have two keyless deadbolts on them but locking the door feels almost unnecisary, in order to get in the complex you need keys to the gates, and this includes getting in from the parking lot. There is ample amount of parking available, including some covered. The location cannot be beat as well - it is located under 10 minutes from downtown, and even closer to the strip (Luther's, Heat, Sparky's) and North St. Mary's (Faust, Brassmonkey, Limelight, etc). There are also lots of local bars and resterants within walking distance - Ole Main Assoc being a good one. Overall, for the quality of the apartments and the neighbors as well as the location, it is a steal to live there.

I've lived here for 3 months and I think it's the best value in the city. It's the city so you run some risks of noise or minor vandalism on rare occasions but at French Place Apartments; the management is very accommodating and seem to care about each tenant. The location can't be beat for the price.

Great apartments with friendly staff and residents. A little pricy, but great location; close to the city and in a beautiful neighborhood. There are a few dog parks nearby for those that have dogs, and all complaints are handled swiftly and efficiently.
