- Do not recommend!August 31, 2022Do not recommend living here!!! There are several reasons I had a horrible living experience here, but I'll just list a few. 1. Concern for safety. To begin with, it is not on a safe block. On top of that, the doors to get into the building broke several times within my year there. They would get stuck or other tenants would prop it open allowing anyone entrance inside. There was a trash room, but the company got rid of that and made tenants walk into the alley way to a dumpster to throw out ...trash. Literally showed 0 consideration for tenant safety. 2. Noisy/disrespectful neighbors. Tenants in this building were blasting music at all hours of the day and night. There were also multiple times a tenant would be in yelling fights on the phone and in person in the hallway. There are also inconveniences such as stolen packages, frequently broken elevator, and unresponsive staff. Really wish there were honest reviews before I moved in here, so just writing this as a courtesy to anyone considering this spot.- Property Manager RespondedOctober 10, 2022Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to review us. - Genesis Apartments and why you should run the other wayJune 27, 2022The first day I moved in I was deeply concerned that I walked into the wrong apartment. I checked and double checked my email, and confirmed this is the unit I signed the lease for. It was fully furnished and they had no idea it wasn’t cleared out. Beyond that the unit hadn’t been cleaned as was evidenced by the hair left in the bathroom sink and on the counter, the long pieces of hair on the floor and baseboards, the stains on the stove top and cabinets. One month later: The people in charge ...of pulling rent pulled it twice for the same month in two separate accounts (the second one provided strictly if the initial pull failed - it did not and yet the second account was drafted as well) refunded it pulled it again and we were talking to 5 people at the time who continued to confuse the situation and over complicated matters. Took them TWO MONTHS to "fix" a leak in the apartment. Our 1 bedroom quickly turned into a studio apartment. The property manager at the time stopped responding to emails, and calls. The cleaning company *MIGHT* come “clean” once a week, we were told they should be cleaning 2-3x a week. At this point they’re honestly just pushing dirt around. The front door continually malfunctions - the latch will stick and the door won’t close fully after entering or exiting. Call box is not connected to front door. In December of 2021 they sent out Maintence to everyones apartment to have them check the warranty for all the appliances in the apartment In may of 2022 our washing machine clunked out. Died mid cycle - absolutely no power to the unit - and the door is locked holding my NEW EXPENSIVE bed sheets and blanket hostage. I made a maintenance request immediately, they sent out their in house guy within 48 hrs and he did everything I already did and relayed to them to confirm it does not in fact work. I followed up with an email the next day including the product information I was able to gather off of the side of the unit. I was met with silence. I followed up again with Maintence. No response to emails or phones calls for 1 month. When they did finally respond it was to ask me once again for the product information previously provided because management has “lost the paperwork”. Over the course of this month my neighbors washing machine also stops working, they’ve been met with the same treatment so far as well - complete radio silence. The washing machine still doesnt work - 2.5 months later.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
