Horrible place to live
December 4, 2025Worst management that I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ve encountered so many issues here that when I share stories about my experiences here, people are in shock. They always ask me “well did you at least get your rent free for a month or discounted for all the trouble that you went through?” Nope, management doesn’t care and you just have to suffer through. Here’s a few things I’ve experienced while living here: not having mailbox keys for several months, doors to get inside of the building ...malfunctioning, a leak coming from my ceiling flooding my kitchen, my back sliding glass door not locking, my toilet not flushing for multiple days, not having hot water even though I paid all my bills on time, and their online rent portal not working. Home is where you go to rest and relax. In my experience at gravity-home is where you will go to stress and suffer.Property Manager Responded

Mismanaged and overpriced
November 20, 2024The building and facilities appear to be nice but everything is so poorly managed. Many of the 5-star reviews appear to be from people who have not moved in yet. Unfortunately, my experience as a resident is much different. Within a month of moving in, a major leak from the unit above damaged my ceiling. My car was broken into because the parking garage does not have proper security. The building relies on an access control app that frequently crashes, resulting in doors being propped open. ...Despite requests, the owners refuse to provide key fobs. Residents frequently leave pet messes in hallways and elevators without cleaning them. Smoking in common areas like the lobby and courtyard makes it impossible to keep windows open without my apartment smelling like smoke. The trash room is always overflowing because the chute is often locked. I also found a dead mouse in the second floor hallway. To add to the frustrations, I haven’t received a single utility bill since moving in, yet there are steep monthly fees. While the leasing consultants are helpful and friendly, the overall building management is incredibly disappointing. For the high cost of living in this brand new building, I expected more from a luxury apartment in downtown Norfolk.Property Manager Responded

Yeah - No...
October 24, 2024There's so much mismanaged potential here. I recently moved in as well, and after waiting for MANY months to do so - find myself very disappointed and wishing I had moved to Fusion. The units are beautiful, as well as the courtyard area that houses the pool, fire pits, and lounge areas. However, I find myself the most disappointed at the lack of customer service. They were communicative before we moved in, even with the many setbacks of our move-in dates due to construction delays. Now it seems ...as though we never hear from anyone that we actually live in the building. There's no communication about anything other than what you cannot do. None of the common areas are open - can't go to the gym, can't sit outside at the fire pits, can't go outside on the patios on the levels that have them. The leasing office is still next door which doesn't make sense how we can live on the floors above the one their office will be in, but they're not in the office. It is very difficult to get into the Icon building - people see you standing there calling the office and will not open the door for you. We do not have access to mailboxes because there is an unheard-of shortage on mailbox locks. They said they would call us when we have mail and I have never received a call. Thank God for being able to see my mail via the USPS service otherwise, I would never know I had mail to pick up. We are paying to park in the garage that is wide open and not stopping anyone who shouldn't be parking there or not paying to park from doing so. Residents prop doors that should remain locked open facing waterside drive all the time which is a safety issue. And the trash is just awful. No one is regulating the trash. When the construction is finally complete and they take their dumpsters, this community is in for a world of hurt. We pay too much money for there to be closets of trash where the trash chutes are. I just expected more from a luxury apartment in downtown Norfolk. I expected the property management to let us know what is going on - what's the timeline for completion on the building? When will there be a maintenance person to actually come and fix the issues people have let them know they have? If there was an emergency, I don't even know who to call or what number to dial. If we can't get maintenance during the day, what does that look like for an emergency after hours? We're paying far too much for that kind of customer service. Looks nice but is disappointing
September 25, 2024I moved in recently and am disappointed with the way management operates. The leasing office currently only has one phone line, so it's nearly impossible to reach a leasing consultant. Additionally, the leasing office is in a locked building next to Gravity, so it's not accessible to Gravity residents. There is currently no building security due to construction. All of the entrance doors are unlocked 24/7, but I have yet to see paid security patrolling the outside of the building. The ...amenities would be excellent if they were actually usable. The fitness center and lounge areas are all still under construction, so residents are not able to use any of those facilities. Overall, it feels like residents were moved in before the building was ready. It costs a lot of money to live here, but it's not worth it without having full access to everything Gravity is supposed to offer.Property Manager Responded
