January 2, 2021Potholes that they refuse to fix are costing me a lot to get fix fixed almost every other month. And if you work in the afternoon and come home late there will never be a parking spot close to your apartment unit. And the walls are paper thin where I reside so you can forget about getting any sleep. And last but not least. RATS. I asked management to do something about it and all they basically did nothing. But aye you get what you pay for. I will finish my lease and quickly move.Property Manager Responded

Unprofessional/Miscommunicated information
June 24, 2019Before I moved in, I asked the office for certain amenities and features in the apartments. I wanted an apartment that can accommodate a STANDARD size washer and dryer. I asked the leasing agent Stephanie and she said yes it does and showed me a floor plan for a 2 bed/ 2 bath that has the washer and dryer side by side in the picture. I jumped on it quick to rent the apartment at very affordable price. Another day I came in before signing my lease and spoke to another leasing agent named ...Gennifer/Jennifer and went over some details about the lease and I asked about having pets and she said that the pet deposit is $300. I clarified with her if it was $300 each pet or $300 for both! She said that it is $300 together for the two dogs. Well I moved in on 6/21 only to be HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. My father moved in my washer AND dryer and the space for the washer and dryer won’t accommodate BOTH. Only one or the other. The space used to be a pantry that they converted into a laundry closet to accommodate a STACKABLE washer and dryer. Then I got a call today stating that I need to give another $300 for the pet deposit because I have 2 dogs. Apparently, I faulted in completely reading the pet addendum when I got the keys because it states that I am responsible to pay $300 PER PET as a pet fee/pet deposit. I confronted the office staff about it and Stephanie said she doesn’t know who I talked to but showed me in the addendum I signed that I have to pay $300 per pet. I have been here for a week and I’m highly annoyed that what I thought I was moving into is in fact a facade.Property Manager Responded
June 26, 2019Ms. Williams, as I shared with you when we met in person about this, it is unfortunate if there was miscommunication or misunderstanding during your application / move in process. We strive to accurately assess the needs and requirements of our prospects so that we can satisfy them! The last thing we want is a brand new resident that is unhappy! Thus please accept our apology for any error that may have been made in explaining either the pet policy or with regard to the W/D connections. I have asked each staff person about what was said regarding the W/D connections and I was told that you were not shown a model when you toured the community and that the actual size of the W/D connections was not shared, requested or discussed, however it is our normal process to strongly suggest that residents measure the area before purchasing appliances. In any case, wherever this went wrong, we understand and sympathize with your frustration in the matter. Next with regard to pets, you state that ...Jennifer misrepresented the pet fees. I will be meeting with her to review what was said, and to confirm that she is clearly explaining them to prospects, but it is true that the addendum and pet agreement you signed is accurate and clearly states that we charge a $300 non-refundable pet fee, per pet. We sincerely regret that you had expectations that were not met, but we hope you will allow us the opportunity to make it up to you over the course of your lease by providing prompt and friendly service to you. Heatherwood is convenient, affordable and attractive and we have a lot of loyal residents. I am sure we can turn this around for you! Management Can be Rude
May 22, 2019Management acts as if your incompetent to understand basic things. Roaches can get bad if you don’t have them spray every Friday. The parking is horrible and there is never visitors so don’t think about enjoying company unless they come during 7am-5pm that’s when spots are sometimes open. Even parking for the residence can be bad. Stray cats everywhere. Other than that the neighborhood is pretty quiet considering the location.Property Manager Responded
May 24, 2019Dear Resident, we are sorry that you feel you were spoken to you in a condescending manner. I can promise you, that was not our intention. I am sure our staff simply wanted to make sure that what was being discussed was clearly understood. Unfortunately miscommunication and misunderstandings between staff and residents can cause the most issues, so we try hard to avoid them! We are aware of and working on the stray cat issue. Unfortunately we have some residents who feed them and we unfortunately that attracts more. This is something we are working to reduce and control and will re-issue a notice to residents not to feed them. Last regarding parking, it is true that we do not have a ton of visitor parking. The desire for more has been shared with upper management and they are looking for solutions. Thank you for your valuable feedback. Heatherwood is proud of the service we provide and we are so appreciative of our many loyal residents.

June 26, 2019We are sorry if you felt staff were condescending to you, we assure you that is never our intention and we apologize for coming across that way. With residents from all over and with varying experiences with leasing as well as with understanding the English language we are in the habit of speaking slowly, directly and as clear as possible to promote understanding of lease requirements and community policies. The thing we hear most from people committing lease violations is that they did not understand the lease or the rules. We report strays to animal control, and do what we can to reduce any nuisance caused by them, though it is a difficult challenge because they are attracted by other residents who feed them. Last, it is unfortunate that as a result due to our popularity and high occupancy, that parking is frequently full and visitor parking is not as plentiful as we would like. On the plus side, we are happy you are enjoying the quiet neighborhood! We appreciate your comments as ...this kind of information helps us as we analyze ways to improve our community!

October 30, 2017this Is my first apartment and it has been the worst experience they have bed bugs and roaches infestation in all the apartments they also have old air conditioning that goes out every two to three days and lets not talk about they huge pot holes in the drive way the staff in the office are not helpful and don’t care about your complaints .. trust me you better off somewhere else this place deserves no stars honestlyProperty Manager Responded

Parking, maintenance and bugs/rodents
June 29, 2017Hard to find parking spots after 6. Limited visitors parking and tricky signs that WILL get you towed. The roaches are HORRIBLE. Bombing and pest control does nothing, they never leave. I have went in public with a roach crawling on me before!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!! I now have spiders and in the beginning of my lease I had a rat. The first maintenance man asked no questions, just picked a few spots to spray and tried to leave (I asked for rat poison). The second person some time later ...plugged up holes, left traps and rat poison. No more rat. I came home to my ceiling on top of my toilet and stayed on the line for the emergency maintenance. Since this was important "they try to have someone in by tonight if not by tomorrow". No one came that night so I had to purchase a room not wanting to further damage anything or scared that something would fall on me while on the toilet. Left the room around 12 and still nothing but I "should keep calling for something like this". Men came over to fix it later and said they be back tomorrow to paint. They never came back. Six days later there's water dripping from the ceiling around my light!!!! Maintence comes over to put plaster around once more.... meaning there is still water above me and my ceiling is still not painted. I give up.Property Manager Responded

June 9, 2017I've been living here 15 months and have had many problems. There's always trash on the ground (the staff only picks up some of it). There are countless stray cats that leave paw prints all over your car and also sleep under your car. The parking lot is full of potholes which never get fixed. The front gate stopped working months ago so now they just leave it open at all hours. My air conditioner has broken three times, and because maintenance doesn't work nights or weekends, I've had to go three ...days until it got fixed. The parking is also a nightmare. If you come home late you'll have to park 100 yards away because all the close spots are taken. If you mistakenly park in one of the poorly marked handicapped spots (very hard to see at night) you will be towed. If your lease expires and you sign a new lease they won't offer you a new parking permit, you have to specifically ask for a parking permit and display it at all times or you will be towed. Bugs are a problem too. You will find roaches and wasps around. I had to request maintenance twice to take care of a wasp nest and all they did was spray it, they didn't even remove the nest! Lastly, the neighbors. My neighbors have left full bags of garbage on my doorstep, thrown rocks at me, and often sit on my steps and refuse to move when I ask them. Horrible Customer Service
May 24, 2017I tried leasing a unit there today but because of the staff I decided not to. Once i stepped foot in that office i was not greeted. Meaning not one single person there made eye contact with me and seemed like it bothered them to know they had to work. The model i was shown was beautiful but they have too many potholes by the entry gate. And also their entry gate stays open all day till 8pm. Which i didn't really like because I'm not sure if i was going to feel safe with both of my kids. I was ...surprised to know that the person who attended me is the assistant manager. She has a very heavy nasty attitude and i just couldn't imagine dealing with her while living there. She is not comprehensive whatsoever. July 19, 2016Hi there, I've being living in this apt's for 6 months and the office is very rude and unprofessional. The property is always full of trash and diapers roaches everywhere. The office is charging for rent including pool and parking lot but they can not provide a parking lot and pool is always dirty and they never change the water my car has being towed 3 times and I've had to pay for it. Gunshots, thieving maintenance workers, and roaches.
March 3, 2016Neighbors are about the only good thing here. You'll automatically get along with each other as you complain about the unhelpful office workers who NEVER answer the phone. There are gunshots every night, the gate is always broken, there is never nay parking past 10pm on any night, and I had maintenance steal over $500 in kitchen equipment while I was moving furniture to my new place. Obviously, the office didn't care and did nothing.. I filed a police report and never heard anything else about ...it. Just skip it, really.. you can find another apt.Property Manager Responded
