Leasing office lies for a sale
June 15, 2020This is a warning that the leasing office here, in particular David, lie through their teeth. We were told and confirmed 3+ times that there was a fixed utility fee (It’s the reason we picked this apartment so we asked many times). Our first full month’s bill comes and the utilities are not fixed and double the price we were told. After 4 days of attempting to contact the office, he said he didn’t remember and that I was incorrect before trying to pin blame on my significant other even though ...I was also there and also asked him. This same situation occurred when touring apartments. We were originally showed a 1000+ft apartment. We came back the next day to talk about signing a lease and he tried to tell us that there hadn’t been any apartments that size available and instead tried to rent us an apartment 100+sqft smaller for the same price even though a bigger apartment was available on the website. Other comments, The temperature in the building is uncomfortable for a majority of the year since they do not switch the hvac until its way too late, and the heating runs way too hot even in winter unless it’s under 30 degrees outside (can easily hit 80 inside). Rental increases have been well above average for the area the last couple years. The fitness center is too lacking to actually replace a gym membership and some free weights would go a long way over a handful of machines. The smell from the trash room sometimes permeates the building. The car garage in the west building is pricey, tight, busy, and difficult to navigate through even for a sedan. Great place to live
August 25, 2018I’ve moved in here December 2017. I wasn’t so sure about living in a high-rise, thanking about noise levels etc. this is not the case here at Highland House West, my experience here has been totally enjoyable from dealing with Alecia, Who handled my rental contract and could not be nicer and professional. From the start she made everything easy. The building is immaculate, very well kept and maintained, The people at the front desk are absolutely lovely and it is very quiet and peaceful. I am ...so happy I moved in to this great place!Property Manager Responded

Second-hand Smoke in Apartment
February 17, 2017My husband and I have been living in HHW for over 3 years now. Great place to live-except it is a smoking-building. We have new neighbors who are smokers and now we have cigarette smoke flowing in under our door (mornings and evenings) and seeping through the electrical outlets on the wall we share with our smoking neighbors. There is nothing management can do to keep the smoke from entering our room, as they have no policy against smoking inside. In this day in age, when the negative health ...issues of smoking and breathing second-hand smoke are widely known/confirmed, I am appalled that any apartment complex would not be smoke-free or at least implementing smoke-free policies.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
