WORST PLACE TO LIVE IN!!! I'm warning you! There's RATS! This place is infested with rats and roaches! ? there's no security what so ever... Way overpriced for the quality of the apts. oh and there's trash EVERYWHERE!

We have weekly pest control services and a part time courtesy officer on a rotating schedule. Our service team spends time every morning picking up the grounds and we've placed rubbish containers throughout the property for the convenience of our residents. We're sorry that this reviewer had a bad experience. Las Velas at Hillcroft was a finalist for the Houston Apartment Association Property of the Year in 2019. Our property manager won Manager of the Year. We think you'll find that this review does not accurately reflect our property in 2019.

Terrible everything

Management is rude and tries to scam you out of money especially if there's a language barrier. It's very unsafe there are always gun shots in and around the complex. The "security guard" is either never there or sleeping in his car. Broken utilities were a mainstay and getting them fixed was a chore. I do not recommend anyone stay here.

This apartment has improved dramatically over the last year or two. New management has upgraded both exterior and interiors. Add that to the great location and amenities, and Las Velas has become the best apartment in the area. Found the staff very friendly and professional as well.

I've been watching this place improve for over a year. Immediately noticed landscaping upgrades and stopped in a few weeks ago and the exterior is really looking good under the new management. I have been transferred out of town since then, but I would consider another look here if I return to Houston.

I used to drive by this place all the time and never thought to live here, due to the condition. I noticed a major improvement earlier this year and decided to check it out. Apparently they changed owners and management. When touring the model, I was amazed. It looked like a brand new apartment (new appliances, wood floors, new ac). I moved in in July and I am loving it! I can't wait to use the new pool in the spring.

My husband and I absolutely love Las Velas amenities and location. The property is very quiet and the upkeep of the property grounds is immaculate. The maintenance staff are prompt and see to your needs quickly. Outstanding Customer Service! I have been living at the Candlewick Apts for almost a year now its a second chance apartment complex for people with borken leases,and some eviction. That's one of my reasons for staying their and it was the cheapest thing i can fine as a single mom trying to make do with what i have. Maintenance is ok its not many of them but they get the job done for the most part.
