Save your money
March 15, 2018I lived here for a year and the management is awful. I've had to live with a cable box beeping in the locked utility closet in my kitchen the ENTIRE time I lived here. I was in contact with them about this issue for 2 months and they were unable and unwilling to fix it. They have a ridiculous amount of fees on top of rent. And upon moving out they sent us a random "final utility bill" 5 days before move out, when we had already paid everything for the month. After reading other reviews about ...cleaning charges I can only imagine what nonsense they are going to make up about how we leave the apartment. High Costs. Poor Management.
March 4, 2018The management here is very poor. Although I've paid $16,000 in rent, they would not replace a few square feet of carpet after, through no fault of my own, raw sewage seeped into my bedroom. They cleaned the carpet but my contention is they should have replaced it. Just a few square feet. You pay a monthly parking fee, trash, fee, pest fee, and water bill. The trash compactor routinely overflows and they fine you if you don't take your trash to an alternate location. For trash fee I think ...they could empty the compactor more frequently. Because I am staying one month extra beyond my lease, they are charging me an outrageous month to month fee. I realize per the lease I signed they can do this but that doesn't mean they should. MONEY HUNGRY LIARS
June 10, 2016PLEASE READ!!!! Legacy at Mayland is the worst place to live. They are super money hungry liars !!! As the other post state the move out process is the worst. We're talking 1,000 dollars after move out. They charged 60 dollars for light bulbs that we had already replaced( by the way when you live there if your light goes out YOU have to buy new ones). They charged 50 dollars for a cleaning fee after I spent hours cleaning because I read these reviews you are reading but nope I forgot to clean ...INSIDE of the washing machine. The buildings are super old....you can hear EVERYTHING. They put caulk (like for the bathroom) to cover every crack in the walls. The flooring is in bad shape and you can hear every movement YOU and your NEIGHBORS. They charge you for pest control every month that you will NEVER SEE!!!! ( well until your ready to move out so they can try to charge you AGAIN) The one garage compacter NEVER works but you will be paying for that also. They NEVER have events as promised. They NEVER can keep a maintenance worker ( their begging for one every other week on the portal for residents). Horrible place run away
September 29, 2015the management has just gone down the drain now. I moved out of my last apartment and they slapped me with an almost 400$ charge for things that they need to do to refrsh the apartment fr the next resident. I have already paid them for the use of this apartment.. It's Called RENT. Which apartment complex does not change bulbs? This one just decided one day and sent out a mass e-mail. This is on the lines of Bait and Switch. SOmeone very Bright in UDR decided to install wood floors on the second ...floor aprtments. Mind you, if you are living on the first floor apartments, you will never be able to sleep in peace. When you complain about the noise from above, the management will threaten to evict you. I am just waiting to get don with this lease and move out of this place and never probably look back at another UDR community if this is how they are going to treat their residents. Too expensive for what it is
August 18, 2015If rent were cheaper I wouldn't give it such a low rating. It's a grade C apartment complex pretending to be luxurious. Parking is horrible, fees left and right, and please don't live on the first floor. I heard my upstairs neighbors snoring so you can only imagine what else I have heard. It's hardwood upstairs and they're supposed to have 75% covered in rugs, but no one does it. The good things are that the property manager, workers, and maintenance men always reply within 24 hours. Also, try ...to get an apartment facing the "courtyard". It's like having your own backyard which is nice. August 9, 2015My wife and I have been living here for 3 years. Overall this has been a nice apartment. We like the layout and the kitchen is fairly large compared to similar apartments. The community and facilities are nice. The gym was recently renovated with brand new equipment. No real problems with bugs; but we do find the occasional spider cricket. Your are limited to one assigned parking space; so if you have multiple vehicles you will need to park the others in visitors spots which can be a real ...pain on the weekends. Living at the Legacy
August 9, 2015My husband and I have been living here for about 3 years. We love the facilities and the kitchen is LARGE for an apartment! These apartments have been renovated. So you're not living in an apartment that's stuck in the 80s. The windows let in plenty of natural light and the neighbors are nice. Maintenance is quick to respond as well. The only downside is that the rent is a bit steep. But you get what you pay for. :)Review from Apartments.com
