affiliated with Duke and there are also some families with younger children. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood, but I always set my alarm and have a piece of wood in the sliding glass door base just in case. The other side of the complex (Lenox East) has 1 and 2 bedroom apartments so there is a lot to choose from. I thought when I first moved there that I would be biking to work, but there aren't well marked bike lanes on the way to campus so I drive--I do see other people biking though. The management has always been very responsible and courteous, and you can pay your rent online rather than driving to their office (which is a few miles away). Another drawback is there is no covered parking, although there are always plenty of parking spaces so that is a plus. Whenever I've had any maintenance problems someone comes either the same day or the following day and gets it resolved. The emergency maintenance team is also great and super quick and courteous--they replaced my fridge the next day after it died. It's not the newest construction (90's I think) but they keep it up well with preventative maintenance on the exterior, as well as weekly gardening, and they tend to catch up on upgrades in the units when people move out. On the whole I'm very happy I chose Lenox West.
