About Merrifields Estates Apartments

We offer spacious 1 and 2 bedroom apartment homes and 3 bedroom town homes. Our community is nestled in the peaceful Merrifield neighborhood, right in the heart of Churchland. Our community is conveniently located to shopping and dining opportunities, and is just minutes away from major highways, perfect for those with a busy lifestyle seeking an affordable place to call home! Pricing and availability: 1 Bedroom Garden Apt- $750 2 Bedroom Garden Apt $850 3 Bedroom Townhome- $1015 Features: Our apartments and townhomes all feature wall-to-wall carpeting, major kitchen appliances and ample closet space. Three bedroom townhomes have washer/dryer hook-ups, with the option to rent the set for an additional $45 per month. Our garden apartments allow the option to rent a stackable set for $40, or our residents may utilize the on-site laundry facility as well. Application Fees and Security Deposit: The non-refundable application fee is $40 for the first applicant and $25 for each additional adult. All adults must complete a separate application. Security deposits are based upon the application process and will range from $450- $900. A $99 administrative fee will be assessed upon move-in. All prices listed are subject to change. Other Requirements: Residents must purchase and maintain a renters’ insurance with a minimum liability of $100,000 and listing Merrifield Estates as a certificate holder. Utilities: Residents pay water, gas and electric. Pets: Merrifield Estates is also a pet friendly community, allowing one pet per home, with weight and breed restrictions. A $350 non-refundable pet fee and $40 per month pet rent is assessed. Contact us! On-site management and maintenance is provided by United Property Associates. Cockroach infestation, bad plumbing I was 15 days without a working bathroom and the regional manager said they had 21 days to fix it, but they still expect you to pay full rent

Would give it no stars. Walls are super thin. Apartments are poorly put together. No grace period & there infested with roaches that range from tiny to the length of my middle finger. The second week I moved in we saw about 20 large roaches. There's no escaping them. Even if the apartment is Clorox clean. We have yet to move any furniture in because of them. So bad my newborn sleeps with me because I saw one in his bassinet. I wish I was exaggerating.

I truly love it out here. These apartments are in the Churchland part of portsmouth. It's sooooooo quite and its a perfect place to raise your children. The 3 years I have been out here, I've only seen the police twice and it was due to someone popping fire crackers and a couple fussing in there home. The school is 2 minutes up the street and if you don't want to take your child to school the bus stop is in front of each section. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and the rooms are a nice size. ...

Both bedrooms have double door walk in closet.

I truly love it out here. This was my first place and I truly made a great choice. Its a perfect place to raise your children and real close to the school. Its truly quiet and I think its a great place to be.
