Jessica is a very helpful and friendly worker who made the paperwork process as less stressful as possible with her understanding disposition which was needed for my slightly disabled sister in law. This will definitely have me referring people looking for a good place to live move her. The saying is you meet the person first who can give a positive or negative impression of a place being considered to move to. She definitely is a positive and good representative for The Oakes at edgemont!

I have been living here for some years now and I have seen the good and the worse.
Towards the end of 2018 new management took over and I am seeing a change. No longer scared to walk in the community.
Thank you Alex for coming in and cleaning up the Oaks a place I can start to call home again. With time we may get those new windows.

Save your money! This community needs to be investigated. The office staff is rude, maintenance is lazy and Its infested with Roaches!!!!!! Oh and the grounds are dirty. Broken down cars with expired tags and People yelling loud music. The do not enforce anything. This is Gastonias HOOD!!!!!

so unhappy right now and very frustrated , cant seem to get anything fixed, been 5 months been dealing with trying to get things fixed in bathroom been 3 wks now cant get things fixed in the kitchen, neighbor above me dealing drugs making noise all night and day the pool i has been closed almost all summer and the list goes on yes its looking nice on the out side but when it comes down to getting it fix on the inside its a negative if the lords willing i will not be there another yr but when you ...
are 1 day late paying rent you get that eviction letter on the door the next day with no delays i have never caused a problem to them and this is the thanks i get

Worst decision ever!!!!

It's been a few months that I made the worst mistake ever! I have lived in other apartment's in Gastonia and I have never been so unhappy.
When I moved in the apartment was in bad shape but the office staff promised to have it fixed after I moved in but the never did. This place is a 1 on a scale from 1 to 10 and I'm not exaggerating.
The problems include: RATS coming from the pipes outside my patio
I seen about 10 of them since I moved in they are about 10 inches long. I know they are rats ...
because they are huge. My children have seen them many times also and I have told management and they have done nothing to exterminate. There is mold inside the apartments, the paint is chipping off the walls,the doors won't shut at all so we go to the bathroom and the doors won't shut seems like the doors is too big for the frame. The dishwasher is not properly installed it tips foward. The fridge and oven are soooo OLD and yellow. And there leaks ! Soooo many from everywhere. My apartment flooded and it stayed like that for 2 weeks! They kept on saying someone was going to take care of it but they took 2 weeks. The floor is not real wood it's vynil and it's lifting after the flood inside my apartment but the worse thing so far is the A/C it doesn't WORK!!!!!! it's 81 degrees in here and it's been this way since Friday and they still haven't fixed it. And it not the first time this happens that they leave me waiting for my a/c to be fixed. I have posted some pictures so you can see and I also have these pictures and videos of the times I have complained to them of all these issues so I can take to my lawyer because I plan on taking these people to court. I am so unhappy. My quality of life has diminished since I moved in I can't belive I'm sitting here in 81 degrees with my baby in my arms crying and her head wet from sweating. PLEASE LOOK AT MY PICTURES!
And to management I know you will see this and know who I am but I don't care because you know how many problems I have had and I have always been nice to you but I feel like you guys always ignore me but please take care of all these problems or move me to another apartment or let's break this lease.

All sounds good until you move in

Been here almost a year & half. The staff seem friendly & like they care until you need something fixed. NOTHING gets fixed. & rent is just going up. Haven't had AC all summer bc the unit is broken, fridge is leaking, sink is leaking. All reported numerous times. They said they would come fix them on numerous occasions. Nothing has been done to this day. Please don't judge the place by the cover. It may appear to be a nice place on the outside, but once your locked into a lease, it's ugly & ...
everything is broken. Including promises of things to be fixed.

They are way overpriced, the maintenance NEVER fixes ANYTHING, the power bills get up to 250/300$ for a 2 br bc the Windows are so old. ...they don't take pride in the look of the place at all. Ladies in the office are the best part, but this place is NOT the place you want to move! Save yourself the hassle and don't move here

The Oaks At Edgemont is a great place to call home, affordable and the employees are great their friendly, and understanding. The staff is always on top of fixing any problem that arises immediately. I would recommend my apartment complex to anyone who are looking for an apartment.
