Tempe’s best-kept secret

Pros: The apartment manager is competent, professional, and friendly and wants to make you feel at home; she always drops off little goodie bags with candy for Valentine’s, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. Maintenance requests were always fixed within 24 hours, from a broken disposal to water heater to A/C. Great water pressure in the shower and no issues with hot water. A/C is effective in summer and heater is toasty in winter if needed. Huge patio windows open to create a nice breeze in ...
spring/fall. Good public transit connections (48 & 62 buses, Venus Orbit, and 3rd St light rail stop). Credit card reader for community laundry machines. 5-minute walk to Tempe Town Lake. 3 coffee shops, a few bars, and a dozen restaurants within a 10-minute walk. Safe neighborhood. Cons: Kitchen/bathroom/bedroom cabinets are dated veneer particleboard. Airplanes are deafening with the windows open and traffic on Hardy Drive is loud. NW Tempe has few amenities so you have to drive down to Tempe Marketplace or Broadway/Southern or take multiple buses just for grocery stores/dry cleaners/banks/shopping/etc. No in-unit laundry machines. No recycling; you have to use the community bin in Jaycee Park on 5th Street.

A great place to live

This complex is amazing. Work orders are taking care of very promptly, I have had things taken care the same day. Nancy, the manager is a sweetheart, and takes care of me as if she was a friend of mine. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great affordable apartment in Tempe.

Southbank apartments

DO NOT MOVE IN TO THIS COMPLEX!! My first day at southbank i was greeted to three cockroaches in my kitchen along with spiders and webs on the front door and all over the patio. Followed by constant maintnence issues. If you request a work order they will take weeks. The unit is painted very poorly and does not even include lighting or fans in the bedrooms or living room. The landlord is very rude and hard to ask any questions. She is manipulative and was not helpful from beginning of my lease. I ...
