I really enjoy this apartment complex
December 18, 2024I have lived here now for about 3 months.. I have read some of the negative reviews and that is just not the experience that I have had so far. It is an older apartment complex that is extremely well maintained. I am always seeing the facilities/service people constantly out and about working hard and the few times that I have put in for a service request the response has been quick and professional. The facilities and amenities are very nice and I have been very pleased. Parking is good and the ...fitness center is terrific. Kendra in the front office was great to work with and helped me every step of the way during my process of moving in/lease paperwork. Very quiet community and neighbors so far have been polite and cordial. I have a 1 bedroom apt and may be looking at going in to a 2 bedroom at some point. Apartments do not have washer dryers in them but the buildings have washer dryers available and they appear to be maintained. The carpet and the appliances in my apartment are very nice.Property Manager Responded

Mixed feelings
September 19, 2020Walls are very thick and it looks great on the outside. However management is hit or miss. While the office staff is super friendly most every time we had a serious concern of safety we were brushed off. Also the laundry situation is atrocious; just the worst- might as well budget for paying for water bills. Over an ok first place but for no longer than a year. (Handled covid response poorly as well, so take that with a grain of salt.)Review from Apartments.com

Good place to call home
September 25, 2018I lived at Waterford for a year and as a 20-something single girl at the time, it was the perfect place for me. Starting with the pros; The walls must be excellent. I NEVER heard a single neighbor while inside my apartment. I started to wonder if I was the noisy neighbor, but I hope not :) They have a gate with a code, I always felt very safe. The leasing agent in the clubhouse (Krysden during my stay) was always friendly and helpful. The appliances and counter tops are nicely updated and ...everything was very clean upon moving in. The one bedroom is cozy and easy to maintain. Also I never had a single bug in my apartment which in the Hampton roads area is a huge plus. Overall Waterford is an excellently maintained property, and a great place to live which is why I am giving it 5 stars. Just a few cons: the smoke alarms are WAY too sensitive to heat. I wasn’t able to cook anything even in the oven above 400 degrees, the second I took the item out, the alarm would screech with no warning beeps. I developed a pavlovian fear while cooking of loud buzzers in my ear. Next, I lived on the very edge of the property adjacent to another apartment complex. I could never leave my window open because of all the screaming / loud phone calls / domestic disputes happening right under my window. This isn’t Waterford’s fault and they told me if the problem continued I should let them know. However If you are reading this... request a unit not near Diamond springs road. Lastly I had a hiccup with my deposit money during the move out process. Thankfully we were able to iron that out. Waterford Apartments
August 19, 2015A beautiful gated community just minutes from major beaches, restaurants, grocery stores, shopping centers and military bases. Waterford grounds are well-kept with beautiful landscaping, and a variety of amenities including a tennis court, pool, car wash station, and a marvelous 24 hour gym. The maintenance staff are incredibly fast to trouble-shoot any issue with your apartment to keep you comfortable and satisfied. If you want the extra space to cook home meals, the kitchen is not only ...spacious but gorgeous with its granite countertops, wooden cabinets, wooden flooring, and state-of -the-art appliances. The bedrooms have walk-in closets and wall to wall carpeted floors. However, when it comes to square feet, this apartment falls short and can be better described as "cozy, with a nice kitchen." If you are looking for a large living room or spacious bedrooms, look elsewhere. But with a competitive cost of only $850, great geographical location, and a variety of wonderful amenities, you can find that cozy takes you a long way.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Pros and Cons- from a current resident to you
July 21, 2015Here are some things I want to shed light on that I LOVE about waterford, as well as things I wish I had known. Pros: Great new kitchen furnishings (and large, central kitchen), gated community, across the road from Little Creek JEB (Navy base), convenient washer/dryer for each building, lots of outlets, well equipped 24-hr gym, and good privacy. Cons: If you think you have alot of stuff, get a 2-br. Storage units cost ~$60 for a 5' by 10' space around here! Great place to live!
August 27, 2015My fiancé and I have been living in Waterford for over two years. We lived in a 1 bedroom for our first year here and are now in a 2 bedroom. ( wanted more space/storage). The complex has beautiful grounds, a landscaping company comes once a week to cut and trim everything to perfection. The staff is wonderful, they are very nice and helpful. Whenever we have mx issues (which have been very small things like light bulbs) mx usually comes over the same day we fill out to request. The only real ...problem we had been dealing with was our building's washing machine and dryer, they get used a lot and tend to break down every once and a while. I would have to carry my clothes next door and use their machine. The staff has always reimbursed me the money lost and the machine would be up and working asap. Luckily they gave my building a brand new washer last month. The complex is very quiet and peaceful, we never have noise complaints. Pros and Cons- from a current resident to a future resident
July 21, 2015Here are some things I want to shed light on that I LOVE about waterford, as well as things I wish I had known. Pros: Great new kitchen furnishings (and large, central kitchen), gated community, across the road from Little Creek JEB (Navy base), convenient washer/dryer for each building, lots of outlets, well equipped 24-hr gym, and good privacy. Cons: If you think you have alot of stuff, get a 2-br. Storage units cost ~$60 for a 5' by 10'.
