Every apartment-ite in Atlanta wants to have a fun night on the town, but what do you do if you don't have a car? If you're getting tired of bumming rides off your friends, or spending your hard-earned money on taxi fare, why not check out the opportunities the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has for you. MARTA has several ways to whisk you across town just in time for enjoying a great night out with friends at one of Atlanta's swingin' clubs, or for a delicious meal at one of their many fantastic restaurants. The quickest way to get where you're going is by train, and with so many stops across town, it's obvious to see why it's served over 3 billion customers. If you need get downtown, to the airport, or any point in between, you're almost guaranteed to have a train waiting for you to sweep you away. Waits are usually short, from five to ten minutes on the weekdays, so you'll never have to stop for long. The train cars are usually air-conditioned, so you won't have to put up with the usual Georgia heat on your train-ride home or abroad. If you need even more options for getting where you need to go, the bus is also handy. It's almost as fast as the train, but reaches a much wider area. This is a perfect option for those living out in the suburbs who need to get to a train station, or to other points around the city. There are even special shuttle buses for major sporting events, such as Peachtree Road Race and Atlanta Braves baseball games, as well as to Six Flags Over Georgia. MARTA has also made getting on to the buses and trains a lot easier as well. Instead of having to deal with clumsy tokens or change anytime you want to hop on a bus or ride the rails, instead you can pick up a Breeze Card. All you have to do is pick up a breeze card, and load money on to it, just like a debit card. Then, when you reach the gate, flash it in front of the blue box and gate will open, letting you in to ride. The card can also get you on to any bus in town, making it one handy piece of plastic. If you're just visiting, or don't plan to ride very often, you can purchase a ticket, which can only reload the amount of days, trips, or dollar you paid the first time you got the card, and can only hold $20. It also expires after 90 days. Still, the ticket is a great option for those not using the transportation systems very often. If you need to get around Atlanta, while helping the environment at the same time, why not try MARTA? This is the best option for apartment-ites in Atlanta to get across town quickly, safely, and affordably.
