When it comes to fresh sushi in Baton Rouge, the choices are somewhat limited, but one places serving up some of the best sashimi, sake and sushi in town is Tsunami. Whether you prefer it as rolls, sashimi, or nigiri, there's a type of delicious sushi here for everyone, and enough to please just about any palate. Sushi fans could do little better than Tsunami, one of the best places in town to feed your raw fish cravings. As with most of the things on the menu, the appetizers aren't your normal pick of the litter. You can choose from miso soup, tofu, mushrooms and seaweed in soy broth, edamame, boiled and salted soy beans, gyoza, dumplings served either pan-fried, fried or steamed, tempura oysters, or a mixed tempura of mixed vegetables and shrimp served with tempura sauce. You can also try one of their original salads, including the sunomono salad, with Japanese cucumber, wakame and carrots, tsunami salad, with either chicken, shrimp or tuna on a bed of mixed green and avocado, or salads of seaweed or squid. Their noodle soups are also a great options, including wakame, or seaweed in soy broth, shrimp andd vegetable tempura in soy broth, grilled chicken or charbroiled beff in soy broth, all served with either udon (flat wide noodles) or soba (thin buckwheat noodles). They also have them with quail eggs, regular eggs, and many more flavors. Sushi lovers and novices alike will find something to delight them at Tsunami, where very flavor imaginable, from alligator, to crab, to fish, to beef, is available in sushi, and where flavors just explode.
