"It can be exciting to attend a university founded on the principles of the first president of the US, George Washington, who strongly argued for a university in our nation's capital. George Washington University (GW) is well known for its undergraduate programs in International Affairs, International Business, Political Science, and Political Communications programs, as well as its graduate and doctoral programs in business, social sciences, international affairs, medicine, education, public health, and law. An excellent education can be earned here, with plenty of national and world politics occurring nearby, but be ready to pay for it. George Washington University is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference and most of its athletic teams, with a mascot of ""George,"" play at the NCAA Division I level. The basketball team has sent a few of its former team members to the NBA, and its soccer team has seen success.
