When it comes to the boroughs of New York, Brooklyn is sometimes seen as the black sheep (which is sooooo unfair because Brooklyn apartment living is AWESOME), but sometimes searching out new spots can lead to unexpected surprises, as New York apartment residents will find when the make the trip out to one of Brooklyn’s best hidden treasures. The Garden Café, in the heart of Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights, serves up some of the most delicious fare in the city, though you couldn’t tell by taking in the restaurant. It may not have the shine and polish that some of the glitzier places around town do, but once you take your first bite, you’ll see it more than makes up for it with pure, delicious flavor. The moment you step in the door, the friendly staff will make you feel like a member of the family, helping to perfectly set the mood for this charming, quaint little bistro. Then comes the delicious food, consisting mostly of veal and steaks, cooked perfectly to your liking, always thick and juicy. The desserts are also to die for at this little eatery, including decadent tarts, torts, and pies, as well a ambrosial chocolate mousse. The menu doesn’t have the numerous options that many of the Manhattan hotspots do, but instead choose to focus on making the dishes they serve to the best of their ability. Any meal you choose is sure to delight and leave you more than satisfied, and is sure to keep you coming back. New York’s fine dining scene doesn’t begin and end in Manhattan, so apartment-ites owe to themselves to discover delicious flavors wherever they may lie, and the Garden Café is an excellent example of this, serving up some of the best food in the city smack dab in the middle of Brooklyn, and wowing customers for nearly twenty years, yet still maintaining its quaint, rustic roots.
