Lynn Overview

Offering sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and positioned just a few short miles from the Boston line, Lynn is an in-demand hub of the greater New england scene. With plenty in the way of nearby amenities, not to mention captivating architecture and a history-rich assortment of landmarks, a Lynn apartment is an excellent choice for anyone eager to connect with a new place to call home in Massachusetts.

What is the history of Lynn?

Settled as far back as the 1600s, Lynn is often referred to as the 'city of firsts' thanks to its history as a center of innovation and industry. The city was among the first to boast a fire engine (in 1654!), a dance academy (in the entire U.S.!) and, depending on who you believe, roast beef sandwich. General Electric Aviation as well as meat packing plants and oil heating plants helped contribute to the city's growth, and throughout the early 2000s Lynn experienced some revitalization via art installations and a loft conversion approach to real estate.

How is the weather in Lynn?

Those living in Lynn apartments can anticipate four distinct seasons, with spring bringing precipitation and pleasant temperatures. Winter, conversely, can see snow, although the proximity to the ocean tends to limit this by a bit, and summer is highlighted by sunny, hot days and breezy evenings.

How do I get around town?

Bus service is currently not offered in the city, although a line of the MTA Rail is available leading into Boston and greater transfers beyond. Still, many Lynn apartment residents depend on a personal auto for getting around, with bicycling also very popular in the city limits. Logan International Airport is only 5 miles away, offering numerous flights every day, and in 2014 the city established a commuter ferry leading to the center of the Boston financial district.

What is the Lynn commute like?

Lynn is more known for scenic roadways than large commuter streets, with U.S. route 1 and I-95 the closest options for larger travel. A divided highway known as the LynnWay runs along the coast, and in general traffic throughout the downtown region moves briskly aside from the occasional fender-bender. Those living in Lynn rentals and commuting to Boston will find the MTA or the ferry ideal for reaching their destination on time.

What are the local media outlets?

The 'Lynn Journal' offers coverage of regional news and events, with the 'Boston Herald' still the dominating print option in the area. Thanks to its proximity to the Boston market, Lynn apartments enjoy a wide swath of options when it comes to broadcasting options, including popular networks like ABC and CBS. Radio is limited but enjoyable, ranging from modern rock to adult contemporary, with NPR talk formats and jazz also in supply.

Why live in Lynn, MA?

A city with much to offer, a rental in Lynn is always in high demand. From the seaside scenery to the abundance of public parks and everall charming ambianc that seems to permeate the city itself, Lynn receives high marks on a variety of levels. From the luxury of Fay Estates to the convenience and retail shopping of downtown, this is one New England hot spot that definitely lives up to the hype.

What Lynn landmarks should I see?

The Mary Baker Eddy House is a must-see for history fans, and the Capitol Diner is simply THE place when it comes to where the locals eat. The Lynn Masonic Hall offers impressive architectural flourishes, as does St. Stephen's Church, both dating back far in the city's notable history.

What is there to do around Lynn?

Spend a rainy afternoon at the Lynn Museum immersing yourself in local lore, or bask in the baseball glory of Frasier Field, which dates back to the 1940s and was one of the first stadiums to boast nighttime field lighting. The Lynn Memorial Auditorium is a great spot to take in some classical music, and the epic ocean scenery offered by a hike to High rock Tower is beyond compare, both just a stone's throw from many Lynn apartments for rent.

Any annual festivals or Lynn events to know?

Freaks, Antiques and Uniques is a truly one-of-a-kind gathering held nearby every May, and the Revere Beach Sand Sculpting Festival always brings out the artistic-minded in droves.

Where are the nearby vacation spots?

Spend a weekend immersed in the nightlife, restaurants and museums of Boston proper (don't forget to take in a Red Sox game!), or simply relax on the beach with a good book on a visit to Cape Cod, both within easy reach of many Lynn apartments.

Where is the best place to move in Lynn?

Whether you are eager for a spare-no-expense three-bedroom rental complete with jaw-dropping water views, or simply desire a funky and charming loft apartment in Lynn that offers pet-friendly policies, we are sure the ideal spot to call home is waiting for you. Happy hunting!
