Explore Mobile
Whether you are a young or an older Mobile apartment resident, the most inside fun to be had in the city is at the Gulf Coast Exploreum. With over 150 interactive exhibits, an IMAX theater, live presentations and traveling exhibits, there is something attractive about this museum for everyone from a Gulf Coast Exploreum apartment. There are four permanent galleries. Minds on Hall presents mind-blowing technology oriented virtual reality projects like building a virtual scream-filled roller coaster, a virtual dancer game or planet. The original gallery is called Hands On Hall and has over 50 activities - create a TV news segment in the TV studio, strum a laser harp, crack a safe or win a tug of war with an opponent that's twice your size! The Wharf of Wonder is for the younger set that lives in Gulf Coast Exploreum apartments, up to age five. Outfitted with smaller steps and smoother floors, the Wharf fosters dramatic play and promotes tactile exploration. The newest permanent exhibit, My BodyWorks is an incredible discovery for those residents of Mobile apartments who are fascinated with the human body and always want to find out more. Learn more about human healthiness, watch a 12 foot heart go into cardiac arrest and perform virtual surgery. Other really cool experiments can be conducted by people who live in Gulf Coast Exploreum apartments, but you'll just have to go to their website to find out more or visit the Exploreum! Open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday 10-5 and Sunday noon-5, people who live in Mobile apartments don't have to pay too much to get in. It's $14 for the combo ticket for both the IMAX movie and the museum, and $11.50 for kids.
