After a relative passed the home I'm living in now was built in 1949 and when the Officials in Raleigh decided to add a Dual-lane to the existing Hwy 15A, the original Hill Top Service Station was torn down and moved back 200 yards where it sits today -- the Citgo Gas Station. Since Grandma Ferrell was living with us, Daddy decided to build her a home of her own and he did so with the help of the neghborhood men: Lawrence and William Wrenn, Emmett Banks, Bill Stinson, The Turners, and Buck Gerald's daddy and friends.I think Uncle Wright also helped (Millie's husband or was it Aunt Healling's husband...I don't remember just now). Anyway, those bricks were washed, cleaned, and built grandma Ferrell's home in 1954. The one I'm renting today. . . .
