If you value peace and privacy while still being just a few minutes walk from Charlottesville's Downtown Mall, this cottage is for you. It's a 7 minute walk, across the nearly finished Belmont Bridge, to Cville's Downtown Mall, Pavillion, and Transit Center. From there trolleys and buses leave every few minutes for UVa, UVa Hospital, and the rest of the city. The cottage can be reached from the front of the property on Goodman street, and also via the "alley" behind the cottage. Our property is the last one reachable via the alley, so there will never be traffic back there. The driveway accommodates a smaller car. The cottage itself has vaulted ceilings, large windows, skylights, and nice light throughout. The kitchen is recently upgraded, including a nice gas range and vent hood. The cottage comes with an in-unit washer and dryer and a large walk-in closet. The yard is maintained as part of the rent. This unit is ideal for a working professional, a couple, or retirees. A cat and/or dog is acceptable pending approval and additional terms. We will require that a tenant carry renter's insurance. We provide trash service. Tenants will pay for gas, electric, water and sewer. Central heating and AC are by a brand new heat pump. This unit available starting Sep 1. The first lease will run through JULY 2026. No smoking is permitted inside the cottage. Prospective tenants will be asked to fill out an application. Conditions include no evictions or convictions for violent or serious crimes. Applicants consent to background/credit checks at discretion of landlord. We obey all housing non-discrimination and other laws. One month's rent will be required as a security deposit upon signing of a lease. Each month's rent will be due on the first of the month.
