Though initiated in the 1800s, Albany truly came into its own in the early 1900s. Its illustrious Carnagie Library opened in 1906, while the Post Office and Courthouse both opened their doors a few years later. A combination of military and private business infrastructure helped the area thrive into the 1970's, with Miller Brewing Company making a home in 1979.
