Few places hold as much natural wonder as New Mexico, and fewer still offer as many activities in the great outdoors as Albuquerque. Still, even local residents must realize how lucky they are to live in close proximity to the Albuquerque Biological Park, a truly stunning complex spanning a zoo, aquarium, botanical garden and natural beach. Located walking distance from one another, the Albuquerque zoo and aquarium draw a small army of visitors each year. Gaze in wonder at jellyfish, sea turtles and eels as you and your family dive into the mysterious deep at the aquarium, where 285,000 gallons of salt water house a variety of coral reefs. Yes, there are plenty of sharks to view of course, including sand tigers, although fans of the zoo might argue that they are nothing compared to the majesty of a land tiger. Mexican wolves, orangutans, polar bears and, you guessed it, lots of big cats dominate the zoo grounds, providing one awe-inspiring encounter after another. Of course, sometime a butterfly is the only excitement you need on a quiet day. For those moments Albuquerque apartment residents can hide their cares amongst the flowers at the botanical gardens, where lush tropical flora and fauna can be admired against the bubbling soundtrack of the Rio Grande. Top off your day with a romantic stroll around Tingley Beach (or, if feeling particularly active, give the paddle boats a try), and bask in the knowledge that your New Mexico apartment is so centrally located to the epic educational complex known as the Albuquerque Biological Park.
