  • Extremely Expensive, Lackluster Living

    I have lived at CSM since June of 2015 -The walls are INCREDIBLY thin. I can hear everything from a baby crying, to cabinets being shut, to my neighbor's alarm blasting at 4am. I am understanding because these are normal things, but if I had neighbors with poor manners, it would be awful. -This place is built where ants migrate, even if your tour guide (Liz) tells you otherwise. When I had ants in my apartment, management told me they were just migrating. They were gone within 48 hours (after I ...
    bought some ant traps). -Parking is terribly limited, especially near the front of the complex. You get one covered space with your apartment and uncovered spaces fill quickly at night. -Overall, office staff is just awful. When I asked for their help with the alarm clock situation, they only offered to stage a "sound check" to see if they could hear the alarm. Only after I suggested they help me move my furniture did they seem willing to do anything. Often, they are rude, such as when they called me multiple times to tell me that I would be outside the terms of my lease if I didn't renew my renters insurance. I had purchased my own renters insurance and my agent had already sent in the confirmation. When I went to speak to them, they confessed that they had the documentation, but did nothing to apologize for their own lack of internal communication. They are condescending and rude and often act as if they don't know the problems you are having. -The maintenance staff is pretty good! On a downside, the "upgrades" in the place are pretty lackluster: poorly finished cabinets, carpet that is pulling away from the wall, and paint drips all over the doors. -The complex feels very safe! I am a young, single woman and I have never felt weird walking around the complex at night. People are generally courteous and kind. -Utilities in my place are reasonable! I pay about $50-75 for electricity and around $10 for water. This may depend on your unit, though, since I live on the first floor of a north facing apartment. -The amenities are pretty great. The pool and gym are open 24 hours and both are well-maintained. The grills are nice, but I would be careful of using such old grill cleaners. Additionally, the gym will often run out of towels and paper-towels, so be prepared. Overall? It's not the worst place to live. But when you are paying over $1000 a MONTH in just rent/trash/forced cable/forced internet, it can be a really frustrating experience.

    When I found Camden San Marcos online, it was almost too good to be true! Granite countertops, stainless steel appliances & a prime location in N. Scottsdale at an unbeatable price! The staff has been nothing but friendly, personable & accommodating in my year here. The 24-hr amenities are extremely conducive to my schedule. It's so close to every convenience you could possibly need and in a very safe area. I love Camden San Marcos!

  • Great apartment, even better location

    I've enjoyed my time at this apartment. The newly renovated model is gorgeous. I haven't ever seen a bug here, the staff is very accommodating, the grounds are always clean even after storms, and the people living here are friendly. I enjoy the events they have from the food trucks to the dog park happy hour. Its a great way to get to know your neighbors and have a sense of community. The location is close to my work, the freeway, and various restaurants and activities throughout the year.
