Very Disappointed

I’m not really one who takes the time to write an online review, however because my experience with Johnson Woods was so alarming, I felt it was my civic duty to do so. Prior to moving into one of Glover Management’s Johnson Woods properties, I was a long time homeowner in Wakefield. After over 40 yrs, I decided to begin the process of downsizing and chose Johnson Woods. Upon moving in, I filled out a “statement of condition” form which listed many areas of the property that needed repair or ...
replacement. After residing there for a full 2 years, less than 10% of the items I listed had ever been addressed. Throughout my 2 years there, I would constantly contact management about these issues and although they would always respond in the affirmative, repairs would never happen. Fast forward to my exit from the property, and to my utter amazement I received an outrageous bill from Glover claiming I owed the $$$ to correct all the deficiencies that were listed in my original list BEFORE I MOVED IN! Unbelievable! At first, I thought someone was playing a bad joke on me. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case. I am now forced to retain council. Not only to refute these totally false claims of damage to the property, but also to recover my security deposit. Terrible overall experience. Wish I could go back in time and make a different choice. There are good people in this world and there are bad people in this world. These people are entrenched in the bad camp! Please learn from my experience and find somewhere else to live....

Ok, so you are looking for an upscale apartment/townhouse community to live in and Johnson Woods looks really good on the surface. Don’t be fooled. If you decide to reside here, it will be the single worst decision of your life. This property is owned and operated by a group of shady, unethical & totally incompetent people. They will say anything to get you to move in, and then good luck trying to get anything repaired or replaced. Not to mention the fact that this company is notorious for ...
attempting to illegally extract fees and charges once you move out. Additionally, they have a long reputation for “stealing” tenants security deposits by fabricating needed repairs once tenant has left. We were warned by many people not to trust Johnson Woods management before we moved in. Unfortunately, we didn’t take these warnings seriously. Make the best decision possible and don’t rent or buy from these scam artists!
