Family-oriented but NOT energy efficient
August 23, 2015Prospect Park is a great place to live with trustworthy, caring maintenance staff who make a point of knowing everyone's name. All units are 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath with either two-car garage or full (unfinished) basement. Each unit comes with washer/dryer hook-up in the upstairs bathroom. We rarely hear our next-door neighbors through the walls, but the windows are very energy inefficient (you can FEEL the wind through the closed window!) so at night you can hear someone outside talking at a normal ...volume through your closed window. During the winters, our electricity bill triples from the spring/fall. Our thermostat is relatively new and works well, but the heat and a/c do not reach the second floor. There is a community pool and a good amount of green space. Cats and dogs are allowed (small/medium only) and people do a good job of managing their pets and waste. We are in a GREAT area within walking distance of SEVERAL internationally themed restaurants (Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Jamaican, Italian), a movie theater, coffee shop, bakery, pharmacies, laundromat, bank, post office, and the police station. Honestly, it will be hard to eventually move away -- no matter where we go, it will be less conveniently located. Within 10 minutes of I-91, I-84, and I-291 so you can easily commute across the CT River, into Hartford, or up to Springfield.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
