“The most chic place in Miami”
We were in a bit of rush to move into a new place and we have a pet dog, so we were happy that they could accommodate us so promptly. We signed a 1-year lease. The day we moved in, the a/c was non-operational and it wouldn’t even turn on, which meant it was an electrical issue. During our entire stay, outlets would routinely stop working. Worst yet, when we tried to get Xfinity installed, the technician informed us that the wall jack outlet was fake (lols), much to
...our surprise. Additionally, mgmt failed to conduct a thorough check on leaks prior to leasing the unit. We were repeatedly slammed with exorbitant water bills, which was the only way we even discovered that there was a leak in the kitchen and toilet. The bill was criminally high that FPL even sent people to check if there was an issue on their end. I can’t be mad at the front office since they’ve been helpful in rectifying that issue and, at the end of the day, they just happen to be the people that work there, not the landlords and definitely not corporate. I’ve repeatedly told them to fix the street lights since several of them didn’t work, which meant the neighborhood would get really dark at night and there’s no overnight or any kind of security whatsoever. Since the community isn’t gated, complete randoms would just pull up to the parking lot and do/deal drugs. We couldn’t wait for our lease to expire to say the least. On the day we moved out, we were informed that our deposit would be mailed to our new address. An entire month passed by and we didn’t receive it let alone any notification as to why our deposit was being withheld. When I finally contacted them, we were informed they kept the deposit for maintenance. What was the point of paying pet rent then? Any “damages” incurred was from the Xfinity tech drilling through the hole since the stupid wall jack the unit came with was fake. If anything we did them a favor, since whoever decides to move into that dump in the future now has a cable-ready unit. While we seriously considered taking them to a small claims court, we ultimately decided to just let it go since, after all, it’s not like we live there anymore and we’d rather spend our time and energy elsewhere. We’re simply glad to put this place as far behind us as possible.
