won’t be here long
August 19, 2023Somerstone was my first apartment and don’t get me wrong as a first time renter it was a great experience but there’s better out there. There’s rats around the trash disposal that I’m assuming no one cares about. The office NEVER, and I mean NEVER answer the phone, you can go days calling them with no answer. They advertise a fitness facility but I’ve been here over a year and I can’t tell you where it is, I’ve never seen it. The roads are horrible, you’ll need an alignment immediately. The grass ...gets cut whenever they feel like it, so expect your grass to get high, I’ve seen a lady have to physically cut her own grass with a personal lawnmower? The neighbors blast music all times of night and throughout the day, very inconsiderate. Sometimes they don’t open the pool, my car was broken into, the list goes on. I don’t have complaints about the inside of my particular apartment (I can’t speak for others) but as far as the neighborhood and the facility, you could find better..Property Manager Responded

August 1, 2023This has literally been the worse place of my life. From the lazy Maintenance men to the community internet going out daily. Be prepared to call multiple time before getting a response from the office. The afterhours Maintenance is a joke, it goes straight to Voicemail which is in Spanish, and doesn't allow you to leave a vm. Oh, I also forgot to mention, none of the maintenance men speak any other language outside of Spanish so good luck with your needs. They'll mark your request complete ...without actually coming to fix the issue. There is a huge Rat problem here, so much where tenants have called Charlotte code enforcement for them to actually do something about. There's also a Flea infestation that they are doing nothing about. They finally fixed the termite situation after multiple complaints from multiple tenants. They literally just opened the gym and laundry area past 5 pm, and the valet trash ppl come when they want. We were informed that we would have to reach out to any vendor they bring on site as they will not do it. I mean I can keep on and on and on, but I did this review so that others do not make the same mistake That I did. No happy
June 19, 2023Charge trash service and half the time they dont pick up. Charge for not putting my trash out when i didnt have trash to put out. Rat at trash compact when i have take my trash out.Neighbor music can be hear to bedroom wall. Parking space is bad to point . You have pay for spot to have space to park if work late at night. Email office but no response because they changed email without tell us. This some of the reason me left.Property Manager Responded

Run while you can!
June 19, 2022Horrible experience trying to rent here! I originally applied here in mid-April. I was encouraged to do so by Gaby, the main leasing agent, as this was the only way to be placed on the waitlist. I was told there weren't any availability for my time range just then but they would know more in May. Fast forward a few days, I was approved and told that there weren't any vacancies still and they'd refer me to one of the sister properties. No one from the other complexes ever reached out or responded ...to inquiries. About a month after applying and no other contact, I received several calls and emails from Gaby letting me that they had a 1 bedroom that had become available but it wasn't the exact floor plan I had applied but it still had all the amenities I required i.e. washer/dryer connection. So I agree to switch to this apartment. I asked several time to actually view the apartment since it was now vacant and was denied under the pretense that they had a policy of not seeing the apartment prior to maintenance and turnover. But she didn't hesitate to tell me that the only way to reserve the apartment was by paying my deposit. So on May 24th, I went to the complex to take care of the deposit and see apartment. Again I was denied seeing the apartment but promised the she'd check with maintenance to see when it was ready. I never got a call. The day before I was scheduled to move in, I get an urgent call and email from Gaby stating the apartment still wasn't ready because the floor vendor didn't show up. I tried to call back the following day, which was my move-in day, but Gaby was "sick" and hadn't come in. No one ever called to try to make things right and honor the move in date like switching to another apartment. I had to escalate the issue to their regional manager C.J. who offered empty apologies and no solutions. So decided to go to the complex and see the state of the apartment. It was disgusting! They had painted and that was it! The floor was littered with dead cockroaches, the kitchen and bathroom hadn't been cleaned. On top of all that, the apartment layout was completely different from what was shown and promised as it was an accessible/ wheelchair-friendly apartment. When I brought these issues up to C.J., again no solutions was provided, no other accommodations was made or offer. However he did promise to refund my deposit (let's see how long it takes to get that back). And I back looking for a new place!Property Manager Responded

Also they have very nice renovated ones and i see they are qorking to upgrade the property. Staff if very professional wendy is always there.
