Only If You're Desperate
March 20, 2018The most important problem with this place is the fact that it's possibly the least safe student-living area in the city. I can't remember how many times I've told someone I was living at Stadium Suites and had them grimace at me and say some version of "I'm sorry for you". We've gotten several emails throughout my stay here of break-ins, there's always people loitering outside the gate and leasing office, and just last week, someone was stabbed to death TWO blocks away! The location is okay for ...football games, unless you're not attending, in which case you won't be able to leave OR return to your apartment on Saturdays. We even had people who decided to set up their tents and tailgate IN THE STREET leading into the complex, and were there for two hours blocking traffic before cops showed up and made them move. The location is also rather unsightly, surrounded by warehouses, auto repair stores, and next to an armory with a barbed wire fence. The lead community manager's profile picture assigned with her emails is a filtered selfie of her sticking her lips out in a duck face...didn't think anyone would put something like that on Facebook let alone have it as their workplace photo. They also constantly harass you with emails and flyers year round about renewing your lease. The internet is awful. It took them two weeks before we were even sent our room's wifi password. The internet is constantly either functioning at only around 5mbps, or just goes down completely. Very rarely does it function properly. You can use an ethernet cord to get around this, but there's only one ethernet outlet, in your bedroom. My outlet was torn out when I got there, and it took 3 maintenance requests for someone to come install an outlet and of course, it physically broke and fell out of the wall immediately. The only good thing about this place is the pricing, which is admittedly cheap. The rooms are fully furnished, but the furniture is awful. The couches have no arm rest, the fridge is old and tiny, the "wardrobe" is four tiny drawers which can't possibly fit all of anyone's clothing, the ceiling fans are weak but also somehow very loud, the hot water sometimes doesn't work, the fan in my bathroom doesn't work, and my bed spring was broken on arrival. Not to mention the place is further away from campus than nearly every other student complex. TL;DR: Cheap, but don't think you're getting a deal, you get what you pay for.Property Manager Responded
March 23, 2018Thank you for reaching out and providing feedback regarding your time at Stadium Suites. We are sorry to hear that your experience has been less than satisfactory. We strive to provide the best in student living for our residents and pride ourselves in our product and customer service. Stadium Suites is located close to Williams Brice, allowing our residents to be close to the action while still providing a sense of seclusion from the big city. We provide a private shuttle to and from USC so that our students do not have the need to worry with parking on campus. As you mentioned, we do provide both hard wired Ethernet along with WiFi. If you have been experiencing issues with the service, please either contact us directly or Epproach Communications, our provider, and we would be happy to trouble shoot with you. Additionally, should you have any other issues, please reach out, our team is happy to assist. We do communicate regularly with our residents and look to engage everyone; ...our goal is to create a sense of community, not simply be seen as an apartment complex. While there was an incident reported approximately 3 miles away on Greene and Henderson around 10pm on March 19th, we are not aware of anything occurring more closely to home as you stated at that time. If you are aware of an incident, please reach out to us as our residents are our top priority. We have continued to make adjustments as shown via several projects, including the installation of the speedbumps and gate arms, to ensure we provide the best possible experience for you all. Due to the multiple incidents of previous damage, caused by speeding through the gates, and the resulting complaints by residents and parents of gates not working, we are attempting to slow down the cars and prevent future damage that leaves our community open to unwanted visitors. Again, we do appreciate feedback and hope to hear from you soon. We would love the opportunity to meet with you in person and discuss your experience further. Sincerely, Megan Hahn

For the parents looking for a safe, resonably priced apartment; Office Personnel have been very helpful
February 6, 2017I would like to first express my gratitude to the staff (Lovonda, Diana, and Kayla) for all the understanding assistance they have provided my daughter in her stay this year at Stadium Suites (2016-2017 cycle). They have addressed two issues in recent months and I as a parent have been quite pleased with their actions. The first involved a roommate issue and the staff was compassionate in understanding the concerns and went out of their way to resolve the issue. The second involved a move for ...the upcoming year in which again the staff exercised a more than reasonable approach to the matter. The quality of the facilities are above average in all cases and pertaining to the individual rooms the condition of my daughter's room was well above average. Maintenance issues (i.e., cracked toilet seat, inoperable vent fan, leaky fixtures as well as other minor maintenance issues) were addressed promptly by a considerate maintenance staff. There is evening and night on-site security (a local police officer who resides on the complex). There is a utility cap on the room, but my daughter and her room mates kept their apartment comfortable and never ran over the cap. I attribute that to the apartment being more modern and well insulated. As with any college environment there are sometimes noise issues but again either the day staff or evening security will promptly address these issues through their 24-hour phone service. Safety is good. The facility has semi-gated entrances in the evening and at night. Passage is through use of a key pass. The rooms are individually wired and supplied with basic cable and the wireless internet has good reception and range. Over all I would recommend this location to parents that are concerned about student safety, convenient travel to campus (shuttles are available), and reasonable expense. If you take into consideration rent, utilities, cable, WiFi, and shuttle service the ~$7000/year is reasonable.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Perfect for Students!
August 9, 2015Stadium suites has given me an awesome experience. The area is amazing. It's minutes away from beautiful downtown Columbia and it's located right across from Williams Brice stadium. Game days are just a walk away. Perfect for college students who love the bar scene for The vista and 5 points are close by as well. Maintenance always comes within 24 hours and fixes your problems immediately. Everything is included in your rent so no need to worry about utilities. There's a sparkling pool and hot ...tub right behind the leasing office. The pool is pretty spacious and there are grills, hammocks and places to host bonfires. The staff are very helpful and has the best surprises. For example outdoor movie night by the pool, catered dinner for residents, free coffee in the morning, etc. Theres also a weight room. The area is safe and the property is gated. I also loved how each room has its own bathroom for complete privacy. I truly recommend this place to college students.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
