Eating out in Los Angeles can be quite a good time for apartment-ites, but doing it too often can leave one with an empty wallet. Finding affordable food in the LA area can sometimes be a difficult task, but not an impossible one. One spot serving up great food at a great price is Beacon. They serve Asian food with flair, while still not making you break the bank to eat it. It also doesn't go cheap on the decoration, with stylings you'd expect from a place twice its price. Its inexpensive without being cheap, and always provides the best in Asian cooking. For those wanting to start off with something lighter, you can try something from their small plates menu. You can choose from any number of a variety of dishes, including crispy vegetable spring rolls, kushiyaki, shishito peppers, kaki fry, with oysters, lettuce cups and a yuzu-tartar sauce, or an avocado salad. You can also try their miso soup, or their green tea soba noodle salad. If noodles are more your speed, try their chicken pad thai, with rice noodles, tofu, bean sprouts and peanuts, their kakuni udon, with pork belly, bamboo shoots, and baby bok choy. Don't worry if you come with a larger appetite, you can still get a delectable meal at an affordable price. Choose from one of their big plates, including grilled organic chicken, with a green papaya salad, black cod with sesame-tossed green beans, fish -n- chips, made with catfish, served with sweet potato fries, chili aioli, and ponzo sauce, or Buddha's Bento Box, consisting of beet salad with goat cheese, green tea soba salad, hoison bbq glazed portobello, tofu with black bean sauce, and steamed rice. Beacon serves up authentic Asian food at a price any apartment-ite can afford, so when you're looking for affordable food in Los Angeles, this is one place you just can't pass up.
