Are you looking for a place to rent an apartment that is cozy but has plenty to offer? Indio was built to accommodate the railroad that ran through it in 1876. This town would feature plenty of trading and would allow citizens to experience fast travel throughout the country. Indio would eventually blossom into a place that agricultural experts would call home. Indio is the home for dates and the farmers at the time knew exactly how to cultivate them in ways that had other people guessing. In fact, Indio holds a National Date Festival every year in order to commemorate this unique property of this town.

How is the weather in Indio?

You can expect average temperatures throughout the year excluding the summer months. It has been known to drop down to the forties in the winter times with December being the coldest month of the year. However, temperatures can get as high as 107 in the summertime and specifically in August. You won't find rain that often, though if it does rain it will most certainly hit during January and February. Indio has mostly clear and sunny skies which means that you will experience more sun here. This is perfect for some people who enjoy this kind of weather!

How do I get around town?

Though Indio is not the largest city in California, there are some more convenient travel options that you can take in order to get around more effectively! One of the most common modes of transportation here in Indio is taking the bus. The bus runs through the city regularly and FixBus is the main transit company around town. However, there is also a train option for some people who want to get around and view the countryside. Though driving is always an option, finding other ways to get around using public transit is just as effective here in our Sunny town!

What is the Indio commute like?

Interstate Highway 10 runs straight through Indio and branches off into CA-86 that runs south. You also have highway 111 that runs parallel to Highway 10 to the south. The commute to work is generally dictated by traffic in the mornings and evenings. However, there isn't a lot of traffic since Indio is out of the way of most major cities. While you may experience rush hour traffic at peak hours, it will not be severe as a major city such as Austin, TX or Los Angeles, CA. 

What are the local media outlets?

You have plenty of local media outlets to choose from here in Indio! KESQ is one of the more popular media stations here in town. However, many people watch KMIR TV 6 NBC as well to get their local news as well. You can also tune into CBS 2 for a variety of content.

Why live in Indio, CA?

Indio offers plenty of entertainment options for young couples who want to start a family and older families looking to relocate somewhere peaceful. There are plenty of country clubs around for you to choose from that will provide you with luxurious amenities that you can enjoy. Indio is quiet and out of the way of most sprawling suburban cities here in California. This means that it is a perfect place to prop up your feet and enjoy yourself during your relaxing stay in your new home.

What Indio landmarks should I see?

As mentioned before, date cultivation was a staple point of the culture here in Indio. You can find the Shields Date Garden in town that will provide you with more historical information on the significance that the date holds here in town. You will also be able to taste some delicious dates while you visit! It is a perfect opportunity to provide your children with some fun education and find out what Indio has to offer!

What is there to do around Indio?

Coachella is a massive festival that is held every year just outside of Indio. It is a perfect place to watch your live bands play and celebrate with your friends. However, there are also other events for adults to enjoy in the area if you wish to experience some nightlife. Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is just one of many casinos in the area that can provide you with hours of entertainment. 

Any annual festivals or Indio events to know?

While we have mentioned Coachella and the National Date Festival, there are other festivals that happen here in our beautiful town! Stagecoach Country Music Festival is perfect for anyone who loves to listen to good old southern music. You can also look forward to the Southwest Arts Festival Indio that showcases some of the greatest art pieces you've ever seen! This event is in its 34th year and features art from artists all over the globe. 

Where are the nearby vacation spots?

Fortunately, there are plenty of places nearby Indio that you can visit for vacations. The Palm Desert is a prime camping spot that people visit whenever they want to get away from it all! You can also visit Desert Hot Springs to relax and take a dip in some soothing waters that will help you take the edge off if you're feeling stressed!

Where is the best place to move in Indio?

Villa Hermosa Apartments is a fantastic place to live and is on the east side of town. You will have access to the highway since it is located soc lose. You should also consider checking out Bermuda Park Apartments if you're looking for exquisite amenities and a friendly staff that will take care of you. They are located on the northwest side of town near interstate highway 10.
