Surrounded by rolling foothills, a beautiful lake is a great place to visit from your Modesto apartment - for a day or a week. Turlock Lake features fishing, swimming, boating, picnicking and camping on a year round basis and is just 25 miles from downtown Modesto. Residents of Turlock Lake apartments have access to this on a regular basis, as well as viewing of the variety of native plant life along the Tuolumne River where the Lake is set. Twenty six miles of shoreline is offered for loads of water activities, with several boat docks for Modesto apartment dwellers to access the lake. Bird watching and hiking are other amenities of the landscape, with excellent look out points around the park. From the high points, you can see the savannas, cattle ranches, orchards and the remnants of gold mining. With an elevation of 250 feet, the warm summers and mild winters make the park accessible year round. It can get warm during the day and cooler at night for Turlock Lake apartment campers. Sixty six spots are available at the campsite which is one mile from the lake on the shady south bank of the Tuolumne River. Day use for people who live in Turlock Lake apartments is 8 am to sunset, and of course campers spend the night in the pretty camping areas. It's busy from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but the best time to camp would be from September to October, when the days are warm but not hot, and the nights are in the mid 60's. It's a nice change from sleeping in your Modesto apartment!
