Oneonta Overview

The apartments in Oneonta, NY, can be the ideal place to call home. This city in New York is smaller, with about 12,700 people calling it home, but it feels like a modern community offering a traditional suburban feel. There are a lot of reasons to call it home, including the wide range of local restaurants, parks, shops, and bars. It is noted as a friendly community with a bit of a small town vibe (even though it’s quite modern in its offerings) and an arts scene. With two colleges in the area, Oneonta offers great access to higher education.

Why live in Oneonta, NY?

Oneonta has much to offer, including easy access to two college campuses and a wide range of restaurants, parks, and shops. The downtown area is a beautiful location with numerous architecturally beautiful spaces, and on the weekends, this is the place to be for nightlife. The city is notable for other reasons as well, including a strong school system and a wide range of green spaces, including areas for hiking and biking, sports complexes, and natural, open green areas. While it’s over an hour away from Albany, some people do live here and commute into the region for a variety of reasons. For many, the area’s natural beauty also makes it a highly desirable place to call home, especially for those that do not want to live in the urban jungle that surrounds the region.
